I'm officially excited now. :D

LETS ****IN GO!

Okay!
This looks exactly the way it should. And I love it!

I'm actually shocked at how great that looks

...surprised how good it looks 'in camera' considering lack of Fraser.

Won't take much to put on the extra touches on of the greater Gotham "look" from The Batman.

Nice to see it looks wet... gotta keep Gotham wet.

Same. I was midly skeptical about how the feel and visuals from the movie would be carried to the series, but here goes my worries... This looks on point!

I think the color grading needs a lot of work, especially for the day scenes. It's kinda obvious they haven't figured how to work that out yet, but it looks promising.

Yeah, it's still early. I'm not worried, it will look better once the post-production is done properly.
By the way, I love the rendering of daylight at the end of The Batman, in the graveyard scene. We could argue it's the end of the day, but it was still far from complete night. Yet the whole thing gave off a certain darkness and Batman didn't look out of place for a second. It was neat.

It's important that spin-offs feel consistent with the movies. I'm one that has been skeptical of the idea, but this truly looks amazing. Count me in for more.

LOVE that they're sticking to the same 'marketing' of The Batman, with the red font and the way the text groups together.

I wonder to what extent this series will be a must-see for the sequel and I'm also one of those who still wonder what to really think about this way of dispatching a story through several types of media, but in any case, the graphic design of the marketing being carried from the movie really flatters my OCDs. :funny:

I was right the flood didn't even last an episode lmfao.

Yeah, this doesn't surprise me. I never really expect the flood to be really carried outside of the first movie.
With the series starting right after it, we could eventually regret not seeing more (if that's really the case, who knows, we're not even in the middle of production), but in the end, what matters most is what it represented : a shake-up opening up an inevitable power struggle in Gotham. Which is what The Penguin will be all about.

... but yeah I wouldn't have minded some watery action too...:D

I know it's very little footage, but the only aspect of 'filming' that I don't think they'll replicate is how Fraser uses specific lenses for depth, tight focal ranges.

Sadly tv tends to do-away with those types of lenses/framing styles.

Only think Mr. Robot shot like that after Esmail took over fully w/ s2... sometimes Atlanta.

Truth be told I think it's a big mistake for them to be trying to ape Greig Fraser's style this much. For a bunch of different reasons, the way it's filmed is significantly different from The Batman (with a bunch of shots you'd never see in the film for good reason) so them trying to force The Batman's look onto it doesn't work. They should color grade it more like Gotham or Netflix Daredevil and make the show have its own identity apart from the movie.

Curious to know who Carmen Ejogo’s character is supposed to be. Seems like she’s important.

It does have a kind of artificial viel to it as a kinda copy of Fraser’s work. But it still looks pretty good. Better than most CBM projects already.

This is looking really good so far. The mimicry of Fraser's style I think is sufficient in a few ways. I like that it's there because it's so reminiscent of the movie and that it immerses you back into this world seamlessly. It looks fine for tv that's for sure.

Also for the love of god if the scene is in daytime then the scene is in daytime. The way they turned the brightness way down to try to make it look dark makes this looks pretty cheap I feel. Reaaally hoping they improve the color grading on this.

Yeah, it looks like a lower budget attempt at emulating the film. It’s not the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen but it looks Fine. I suspect the colour grading is unfinished though.

Looks kind of like a pretentious version of the "Gotham" TV show. Not impressed. A shame. But since Farrells Penguin was one of the few things I enjoyed about "The Batman" film, I will probably give it a shot. At least the pilot.
