It’s kind of wild that he could’ve gone out like that when the first film started shooting and no one would’ve been the wiser, but now he sticks out like a sore thumb.

Trying not to read too much into set photos of scenes that haven't even gone through post yet, but is anyone else struggling with reconciling the extremely different aesthetic going from Scotland/UK to New York City? It doesn't look much like Matt Reeves' Gotham at all.

My guess is that the UK locations are used to film in the elite side of Gotham meanwhile Chicago and NY are the dangerous streets were Oz makes his businesses

Assuming Penguin relocates to a specific part of Gotham, it should be fine. If I recall, The Batman 2 is gonna refeature Scotland/UK for shooting. So I can't say I'm worried

Looks like they'll be the same old grungy type of streets to me, plus they can always add in CGI touchups to change things here and there. Could even roll over some possibly unused B roll from the film itself if need be to flesh out some cityscape ****

Jeffrey Wright said that sometimes when he walked onto the set of The Batman he could've almost sworn it was New York, so I don't think it'll be a problem.
Really when it comes down to it, 90% of the filming they even did in the UK on the first movie was on the Leavesden closed sets which ironically enough were made to look like NY. Liverpool was mostly only used for Gotham Square and Gotham City Hall, and Glasgow seems like it was mostly used for the ending scene at the cementery. A lot of the footage of the actual city was enhanced parts of Chicago mixed with some added gothic architecture via CGI.
Reeves Gotham overall kinda struck me as a mix between Phillips Gotham and the one from the TV show, and both were filmed in New York so... it'll probably work just fine, as long as they aren't planning on directly revisiting any of those areas.

Yeah but even in that bit there was nothing so quintissentially UK about the location to think they wouldn't have been able to find a good place for it as well in NY.

It'd be one thing if they lost out to a style very different to 'added weight prosthetics' // but losing to The Whale is frustrating, considering how much better The Batman's looked.

Hell, the fact that everyone couldn't tell it was Farrell when the trailer dropped, yet you can easily tell that it was Frasier should have been a cleared check.
