MCU Fight: Aldrich Killian vs Drax The Destroyer

We will be doing VS. battles for the MCU every week and will be using the Winners and Losers to create an accurate power tier list created by some of it's biggest fans (you). So don't forget to VOTE and after voting for a Winner please include a comment on which power tier, both the Winner and Loser should reside within. Also, see below for more details on the characters abilities as well as for a list of available power tiers to choose from.

*****Here are some of their powers, abilities and feats of strength.*****


Aldrich Killian

- Heat Manipulation: Has the ability to superheat his skin allowing him to burn through a metal floor, slice through Iron Man's IM3 armors, and even actually breathe a stream of fire.

- Superhuman Strength: Strong enough to grapple and collide punches with Iron Man's IM3 suits.

- Regeneration: Able to regenerate missing limbs, broken bones, and damage from 100 foot falls.

- Superhuman Durability: Tough enough to withstand repulsor powered punches, slaps, and knees from Iron Man IM3 suits and survive large falls.

- Enhanced Reflexes: Capable of dodging Iron Man's repulsor blasts from close range and counter or parry many of Iron Man's melee attacks.



Drax The Destroyer

- Superhuman Strength: Strong enough to punch through concrete, leap several dozen feet from the ground, rip the metal aparatus from Korath The Pursuers head, and tear a small gun turret in half

- Superhuman Durability: Able to withstand bullets without any damage, being punched through metal walls by Ronan The Accuser, and being pulled through a forest of large trees by the Guardians spaceship Milano.

- Enhanced Reflexes: Able to fight multiple enemies at once and reaction to attacks from several opponents

- Combat Skills: Has been given the nickname "The Destroyer" because of his skill and deadly fighting style creating fear throughout the galaxy. Efficient in hand to hand combat as well as wielding dual knives in battle

Had to vote Killian because I feel like MCU Drax has been nerfed a bit and they haven't really show cased his strength much

Both should be in the "top tier" I believe.

Hard to say because there is no real point of direct comparison as of yet, but I voted for Drax because I think his level of opponents is just much higher.

Drax hasn't shown much offensive capabilities so far. But he is a tank. I can't really remember him.being physically damaged... And he's basically laughed off atmospheric re-entry.

I don't think Lillian can hurt him. But I don't know if Drax can put him down either.

Voted Drax. Good match up though. I honestly can't say that I *know* the correct answer is Drax. But I do think Killian is too volatile and much of the threat he posed was in his influence. In a one on one battle, Killian was a force to be reckoned with, but Drax is a fighter through and through and I believe his skin is sufficiently heat resistant for this battle.

Space shuttles during re-entry on Earth face temperatures of about 3000 degrees Fahrenheit (about 1649 degrees Celsius). Drax handled atmospheric entry like a champ and stood up from it laughing heartily.

Killian's temp *MUST* reach 3,034°F (1,668°C) to melt titanium (Stark's suits) but there's nothing that proves he can go any hotter.

Drax gets in close, cuts Killian's head off and then stabs him repeatedly in the brain.

I want to see the thread for Drax the Destroyer vs The Destroyer. :P

I wanna say Drax based on what I know of the character but gotta vote for Killian. I actually enjoyed him as a villain, I think the speed and power he has would be enough to take out Drax. His ability to regenerate limbs and heal broken bones in an instance would be too much.

I don't think his fire breathe would damage Drax though.

This is a really tough match up. I'll have to think on it before I can vote. MCU Drax is considerably weaker so far than Drax from the comics and Killian did very well against Iron Man. How would Drax's durability fare against Killian's heat manipulation?

Thanks for putting this battle together BigThor it looks great. I voted Killian, but I agree with most here that it is a close match up. If it was Drax from the comics this would be a much different story. But I just can't see MCU Drax being able to handle the heat caused from the Extremis technology.

As for Power Tiers, I would say that Both Killian and Drax fall into the Top Tier.

Basically I feel he'll go Floyd Mayweather and land more hits than Drax, who has pretty much been a punching back thus far.

I think Killian has the better tools compared to the weakened MCU Drax, but maybe Drax has an edge on fighting spirit when things go down to the wire.

I need to watch IM3 again. Just rewatched GotG V2.
