We will be doing VS. battles for the MCU every week and will be using the Winners and Losers to create an accurate power tier list created by some of it's biggest fans (you). So don't forget to VOTE and after voting for a Winner please include a comment on which power tier, both the Winner and Loser should reside within. Also, see below for more details on the characters abilities as well as for a list of available power tiers to choose from.

Don't forget to put which Tier group you think Hela and Thor belong to in your posts.
Also, don't forget I've now added the option of being able to change your vote if you change your mind.

So, without further delay here is this week's match up.

Vs.

THOR

HELA

-
Superhuman Strength: Hela possesses tremendous levels of superhuman strength as the first born of the King of Asgard, which allowed her to single-handedly wipe out all of the Valkyries (with only their leader barely surviving) despite their leader being powerful enough to almost rival the likes of Thor and Hulk, and to even easily catch Mjølnirwith one hand after it was thrown at her with full speed and keeping it from returning to Thor's hand, before crushing it in her hand with no visible effort, in spite of it being one of the most powerful weapons in existence, causing it to explode in a blast of lightning. Hela later slaughtered the Warriors Three and the combined might of the Einherjar with ease. Furthermore, she proved to be a lot stronger than Thor, who was also a child of Odin in two of their three battles, as she easily overpowered Thor, who showed considerable difficulty in fighting Hela while she showed no strain, and Hela was one of the few strong enough to inflict significant damage to her nearly invulnerable younger brother with ease, as she can effortlessly lift him off his feet and throw him around as well as cause him pain. Even with Thor having gained his full powers, Hela still proved to be too strong for him and she managed to fight and stalemate both him and Valkyrie, who she repeatedly knocked away easily.

- Superhuman Durability: Hela's body, much like that of Thor, appears nigh-invulnerable, only to a much greater degree, which allowed Hela to easily block spear strikes from a Gungnir-wielding Thor with her bare hands, and to even catch Mjølnir without injury. Hela was even unharmed after grabbing a handful of the Eternal Flame, impaled through the torso with Einherjar's sword and stabbed with Gungnir by Thor without her body or her clothing being damaged, and emerged completely unharmed after a fully-empowered Thor hit her with massive lightning bolts. Indeed, only the revived and fully powered Surtur's Twilight Sword was able to crush her, thus sending the Goddess of Death into oblivion. Apart from Surtur, Odin was the only being capable of doing any significant harm to Hela, as he was able to beat and seal her away.

- Superhuman Stamina: Like all Asgardians, Hela's musculature produces considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of humans or normal Asgardians, allowing her to defeat numerous Asgardians, as well as fight against the combined might of Thor and Valkyrie without tiring.

- Superhuman Speed: Hela can move at exceptionally high speeds, as she was fast enough to keep up with and even outpace Thor and Valkyrie in combat, as well as even being fast enough to catch Mjølnir with one hand.

- Superhuman Agility: Hela naturally possesses greater agility, dexterity, balance, and body coordination than that of a human, and even most other Asgardians, with her managing to dodge and outpace Thor and Valkyrie's attacks for the majority of her battles with them and easily jump through a crater and land fully on her feet.

- Extended Longevity: Due to her connection to Asgard and to Hel, Hela is immortal and will not die, so long as the realm of Asgard exists.

- Supernatural Empowerment: As the firstborn of Odin, Hela has a supernatural connection to the realm Asgard, and can draw power from Asgard itself to perform incredible supernatural abilities. Hela can manifest various physical structures out of thin air, ranging from weapons to ground structures to even her own armor. She can even draw power from Asgard to enhance her natural abilities.

- Weapon Manifestation: Hela can manifest various weapons out of different parts of her body, though she would usually generate Necroswords, daggers, spears, and axes. These weapons are incredibly durable and sharp, enough to not only instantly kill the likes of the Warriors Three and Skurge, but also even pierce right through Thor's nigh-invulnerable body, with Hela thus gouging his right eye out with a Necrosword and pierce his back with a blade from her elbow. She also manifested the Bloodaxe, which she then gave to Skurge. While pursuing Thor and Loki through the Bifrost Bridge, Hela conjured a triangular shield on her forearm to take the impact of Thor's punch, causing it to break apart. later launched oversize blades into a large gate to a secret cave where the fleeing Asgardians were hiding, allowed her to bring it down by telekinetically pulling the blades down along with the gate. She was also able to generate these spike-like constructs from the ground to pierce Surtur with, but that ultimately proved ineffective against the Fire Giant.

- Structure Manifestation: Hela could manifest metallic, blade-like structures from the ground surrounding her, as seen when she attempted to prevent Loki's spaceship containing the Asgardiansfrom launching from the doomed realm, and later when she attempted to gain elevation during her short battle with Surtur.

- Armor Manifestation: After being freed by Odin's death, Hela was able to repair the damage to her clothing and make her headdress appear and disappear from her head.

- Necromancy: Hela, as the "Goddess of Death", demonstrated being able to resurrect her allies, using a handful of flame from the Eternal Flame and tossing it against the ground to create a huge blast of green infernal energy. As such, she was able to revive her pet wolf Fenris and her Berserkers after discovering their corpses under Odin's Vault. She has ruled in the realm of Hel, where the souls of those who died without being honored are driven to.

THOR

- Superhuman Strength: As an Asgardian, specifically the son of Odin, Thor is the third strongest Asgardian of his time, surpassed only by Odin and Hela, and with their deaths, he is now the strongest Asgardian alive. He can lift or move immensely heavy objects effortlessly, such as when he was able to easily catch a falling car with one arm during Battle of Sokovia, saving the family trapped inside it. He can also easily crush extremely durable objects such as Iron Man's gauntlets as if he was crushing a soda can. He also overpowered Iron Man in his Mark VI even despite being empowered by Thor's electricity. During the Contest of Champions, Thor's strength and considerable fighting skill allowed him to compete against and even at times overwhelm the Hulk, capable of staggering the Hulk with his punches alone and sending him flying across the arena with a single hammer blow as well as even restraining him, with Hulk needing to grow angry and surprise him to overpower him. After receiving visions from Odin's spirit, Thor's strength and fighting skill combined with his newfound ability to generate lightning quickly gave Thor to compete against the angered Hulk, generating a shock-wave with his punch that visibly dazed the Hulk. After acquiring his full power, Thor's strength was enhanced to the point that he was able to contend with Hela during their final battle, managing to lift her off her feet and throw her to Valkyrie, fighting her to a standstill alongside ValkyrieHe was also able to easily swing around Rocket Raccoon's Milano escape pod at great speeds, and even hold open the massive forge of a Nidavellir star long enough for Eitri to heat the metal, as well as throw Stormbreaker with enough force that combined with his electrical powers, it was able to slice through a beam from the completed Infinity Gauntlet, and lodge deep into Thanos's chest, as well as cause him great pain upon twisting the axe deeper.

- Superhuman Durability: Thor's skin, muscle, and bone tissue have many times the density of the same tissue in the body of a human being and is nigh-invulnerable, much more so than regular Asgardians to the point that Gamora claimed that Thor's muscles felt as if they were "made of Cotati metal fibers." Thor withstood a 400%-charged repulsor blast from Iron Man and later a blast of Surtur's Twilight Sword flames without any permanent damage. He resisted the direct destruction of the city of Novi Grad followed by one kilometer drop in the sea, and was only momentarily unconscious. Thor notably survived being stabbed with Hela's Necroswords, which easily killed not only the Einhejars with a single hit but also the Warriors Three, who had greater durability than low-tier Asgardian warriors, with no permanent damage. Thor withstood numerous blows to the face from Hulk during the Contest of Champions with minimum damage and was still able to quickly get up with no problem. Thor's durability even allowed him to survive the full force of a re-ignited Nidavellir star, though it leaves his body severely charred and knocks him unconscious and he was close to death and would have died had Stormbreaker not healed him. Thor's physical constitution is so strong he was even remain conscious after having Thanos repeatedly press the force of the Power Stone against his head, which if touched by beings less powerful would instantly obliterate them.

- Stormbreaker: Thor's newly forged maul Stormbreaker is able to focus and hone Thor's powers, acting as a conduit. The weapon, due to being made out of Uru, is nigh-indestructible and able to withstand energy blasts created by the Infinity Stones, even wounding Thanos. The only reason it failed to kill Thanos was because Thor intentionally delayed the killing blow, a catastrophic mistake unrelated to the weapon's abilities. Stormbreaker is able to summon the Bifrost Bridge, even after the bridge's apparent destruction, shown when Thor teleported himself, Rocket Raccoon and Groot to Wakanda instantly. The weapon, like Mjølnir before it, will return to Thor's hand when he opens it and strikes his opponents with massive force.

-
Regenerative Healing Factor: Despite his astounding resistance to injury, it is still possible to injure Thor. However, due to his Asgardian physiology, Thor is able to heal at a rate significiantly faster than a normal human and even much faster than most Asgardians. While fighting Hela, Thor was painfully pierced multiple times by her Necroswords, getting his right eye gouged out in the process, and while Thor was unable to regenerate his eye, he recovered from all of the stabs mere minutes later, despite the Warriors Three all perishing from a single stab from Hela each. After suffering a beating from Thanos and getting burned by the Power Stone, Thor managed to recover rapidly afterwards. Later, Thor survived the full force of a re-ignited Nidavellir star, though it left his body charred and near death, Thor was completely healed after receiving Stormbreaker to harness and amplify his supernatural powers.

- Superhuman Speed: Thor can move at great superhuman speeds. Thor tackled Hulk through the wall of a Helicarrier in a split second, visibly appearing as a blur. He also proves capable of overwhelming the Hulk in hand-to-hand combat during their second fight, able to easily dodge his feral attacks and land his own blows and get a grip on him. In battle, while holding back, he is easily fast enough to contend with the extremely fast Loki in combat and although his adopted brother is capable of outmanuevering him when he is holding back, when Thor unleashed his rage, he was able to easily catch Loki off-guard, disarm him of his sceptre.

-
Superhuman Reflexes: Thor can react and dodge objects traveling at high speeds, with him dodging many of Hulk's blows during the Contest of Champions and he was able to blast away swords thrown by Hela as soon as they were sent sent flying towards him.

- Superhuman Stamina: Thor's advanced musculature is considerably more efficient than that of a human and most other Asgardians. As a result, his muscles produce practically no fatigue toxins during physical activity compared to those of humans and most other members of his race. His virtually inexhaustible stamina enables him to exert himself at peak capacity for an undefined period of time without tiring at all.

- Superhuman Agility: Thor's agility, dexterity, balance, and bodily coordination make him a great warrior for battle. He moves with incredible grace and speed despite his considerable size and body density. He was able to dodge the wing of a jet fighter thrown at him by the Hulk, as well as dodging many of Hulk's hammer and battle-ax blows and outmaneuvering him in their second battle. He can easily keep up with Loki while holding back despite Loki's great agility in both their fights.

- Longevity: Thor, like all other Asgardians, is not truly immortal. It is possible to kill an Asgardian and other beings in the Nine Realms. More accurately, Asgardians are extremely long-lived beings. Thor ages at a pace far slower than a normal human, as he claims to be 1,500 years old, since like Loki, he was born shortly before the last great war between the Asgardians and the Frost Giants.

- Weather Manipulation: Thor was born with the power to control weather storms, with it being the reason he is called the "God of Thunder". Even before Thor unlocked his powers, he still displayed a level of control over weather, able to manipulate parts of it, although his focus always seemed to be somewhere else so whenever events of him displaying this power occurred his mind was elsewhere. Among them was when he was able to keep rain from touching Jane Foster as a downpour occurred as well as when he began to generate sparks of lightning from his hands after becoming furious. He began to unlock the full potential of his abilities during his encounter with Hela, and is now able to generate rather large storm clouds and create thunder.

- Electricity Manipulation: Thor was born with the ability to generate, control and project electrical energy, with him thus being dubbed the "God of Thunder". Following Odin's death and visions from his father's spirit, Thor finally fully unlocked his electrical powers and his powers over lightning are enhanced to the point where he could generate incredible amounts of electrical energy from his own body and summon thunder and lightning from the sky, all without the use of Mjølnir. Thor's generated lightning bolts grew so powerful that he was able to easily send an enraged Hulk flying back and visibly stun him for a time and even temporarily stun and knock down Hela herself with a single respective blast. Thor was even able to cast a lightning bolt powerful enough to destroy a portion of the Rainbow Bridge that Hela was standing on to ultimately send her crashing down into the water beneath. The greatest display of his electricity manipulation is when Thor charges Stormbreaker and throws it at Thanos. The charged weapon proved powerful enough to quickly slice through a beam fired from the completed Infinity Gauntlet and grievously injure Thanos in a single strike, with Thanos himself saying that Thor may have been able to kill him had he aimed for the head.

- Flight: One of Thor's new abilities that he discovered after losing Mjølnir was how he was able to hover, glide, and fly through the air at great speeds without any outside help. He was able to grab onto the Hulk and lift him several feet in the air while they were fighting in the Contest of Champions. He also was able to hover across the Rainbow Bridge multiple times during his final encounter with his sister Hela. He was able to launch himself into the air from the Asgardian palace to the middle of the Bifrost within moments. During the Battle of Wakanda, Thor flew easily while using the Stormbreaker to destroy the ships of the Outriders and later while attacking Thanos.

- Teleportation: After Thor gained his new devastating weapon, Stormbreaker, he was able to teleport at will, due to gaining the ability to manipulate the Bifrost Bridge. As a result, Thor instantly teleported himself, Rocket Raccoon and Groot to Wakanda, in order to aid his allies in battle against Thanos and the Black Order.

They're both ridiculously strong and durable (Thor has better feats but we saw in Ragnarok she's at least on his level or slightly above), they're both elite warriors (I give the edge to Hela in skill/agility) and if Thor doesn't play to his strengths he'll definitely lose. However, if Thor fights intelligently those strengths should win him this rematch.

He has a huge mobility advantage due to flight, his lightning can disintegrate her ranged weapons, ragdoll her and even stun/temporarily knock her out. We've yet to see anyone dodge the lightning bolts he can now summon from the sky but even presuming Hela can, the radius of effect is enough to destroy palaces and battlefields so she won't fully escape taking a hit. And then there's Stormbreaker, a weapon that overpowered a blast from the completed Infinity Gauntlet and embedded itself in Thanos' chest isn't something Hela will be able to block/destroy like she did Mjolnir, it can come at her from any angle and if it lands a clean hit I imagine it will one shot her.

Hela's a serious threat but this is Thor's fight to lose now.

Agreed with all points, although I think Thor definitely got a large strength boost in Infinity War. He didn't seem anywhere NEAR that strong in previous films, even Ragnarok.

This is definitely a rematch worth having. Having said that it isn't clear cut who would come out on top.
Ragnarok Thor knew he couldn't defeat Hela. Only a insanely powerful Surtur managed to accomplish that impressive feat. Now what has changed... Stormbreaker.

Stormbreaker is the key, it's a weapon made for a king, the greatest weapon in Asgard's history... It significantly increases Thor's power level making him even more formidable. Stormbreaker gives Thor the big advantage of flight and also serves as a devastating long range weapon... Used in this conditions it's simply unstoppable. It isn't an easy or fast to wield though... but it's power output is other-worldly.

On the other side Hela is a massive task. She is impervious to piercing damage as shown several times before with weapons such as regular asgardian swords, Dragonfang(Valkyrie's sword), Gungnir(Odin's spear)... She can easily destroy weapons as powerful as Mjolnir. Hela's durability is off the charts. She can regenerate instantaneously. She has the strength to match and even overpower Thor. Hela can also target and take down flying threats with her conjuring of swords as seen in the Valkyries flashback and when she tries to stop Surtur with those building size spears.

The biggest advantage for Thor in this rematch is obviously Stormbreaker and the possibility of doing the exact same thing he did against Thanos. Hela can be stopped with a combination of piercing damage followed by a massive power hit, as seen with the Valkyrie hit with Dragonfang combined with Thor's lighting hit which staggered Hela. Surtur defeated Hela with basically the same tactic but in a much bigger scale, using his insane physical strength coupled with the insane power and thrust of the Twilight sword.

It's a tough one but i give it to Thor. I also think that this IW Thor would take out prime Surtur.
I think IW Thor would have an easier task against primer Surtur than Hela.

Anyone else hoping we actually get this rematch?

She's the Goddess of Death and Odin stated the Asgardians have an afterlife in his "Frigga calls to me/I'm on a different path now" speech so it doesn't feel impossible. Plus Heimdall predicted Thor "leading us to Hel" in the Age of Ultron vision which unless that was metaphorical hasn't happened yet.

If I got to write Thor 4 I'd have him need to speak to Odin/Loki and after Valkyrie points him to the gates of Valhalla he needs to go through Hel/past Hela to enter.

Well we have concept art from Ragnarok that hints at Hela being alive. And there are plenty of clues out there that she could indeed be back in the future.

Thor, due to having Stormbreaker at his disposal.

This has got me thinking, that had Thanos and the Black Order invaded Asgard to retrieve the Tesseract during the Bifrost battle in Ragnarok, the combined strength of Thor and Hela might have been enough to defeat them. And thus the events of Infinity War would have never taken place.

I call it a draw or narrow win for Hela. Even after his big power up at the end of Ragnarok Thor couldn't beat Hela, and admitted as much.

With Stormbreaker I feel like the fight is much more even, but Hela crushed Mjolnir like it was nothing, not sure if she could do that to Stormbreaker but she may be able to catch it, or at least survive a direct hit from it. I believe that Hela would beat Thanos ( with no infinity stones, real fast, with all but a complete gauntlet after a serous battle ).

Hela's death blades can seriously injure and probably kill Thor - he still hasn't grown a new eye. Her main super power is killing things, she's the goddess of death, it's in her job description. I think in the end she could take Thor down - although a stalemate is more likely.

Ahhh yeah, this is a good one like I figured it would be.

The fight before IW was so one sided, I don't see much changing. Thor puts up a better fight, but Hela still wins.

Given that Ragnarok Thor didn't give himself a chance against Hela, I think Stormbreaker evens the odds but might not quite be enough. At least Thor has a chance now though.

Lol did you watch Infinity War? That Thor using Stormbreaker could probably beat 10 Ragnarok Thor's.

Thor just couldn't kill her, he was actually doing quite well once he awakened his full powers.

So could Hela. It literally took destroying a world to defeat her. I don't think Thor would outlast her.

To remind everyone how much of a boost Thor got in IW, he may even be a bit too OP even for my liking (never thought I would say that).

Survives a Power Stone explosion that was actually intended to kill him (unlike the other times it was casually used in the film)

That was weaponless Thor, he could potentially one shot her now since Stormbreaker is powerful enough to kill Thanos if aimed at his head (Russo's confirmed this).

You're also assuming Hela would just stand there and let it happen. She was far more skilled than that. Ask the giant waves of dead Asgardians. Likewise, Hela can stab and kill him with a giant blade. Did I mention she can make blade mountains?

Potentially was the keyword, "potentially" meaning possible outcome not definite.

Right and she can potentially one shot him with a blade to the face. So that ultimately evens itself out. But from what I have observed, Hela is just a better fighter. She uses a lot more finesse than Thor does. Thor relies on raw power, and that is not going to be enough to beat her.

That is a possibility, althought it's kind of hard to hit an aerial target when you can't fly yourself. I agree that she is clearly the more skilled and experienced fighter of the two, no doubt.

So it comes down to her superior skills versus Thor's superior mobility (flight, teleportation).

Great fight

I do agree that this would be a great fight in the end and likely would be pretty close.

Much as I love Thor, I give the advantage to Hela. I don't know why, just a feeling. I also have a feeling we're gonna see her again, and I hope we get to see this rematch play out, at least briefly, before they must unite against Thanos.

I do agree that this would be a great fight in the end and likely would be pretty close.

After this battle I'm going to rematch Hela Vs. Thanos since The Russos said Thanos wasn't using the Power Stone vs Hulk in IW.

So therefore we haven't actually "Thanos (Power Stone)" in an actual onscreen fight in the films, so he will be changed to "Thanos (No Stones) for the Transcendent tier.
