Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

Everything that has been announced has wrapped filming now.
So maybe they wait for SDCC or D23 to announce the next 3-4 movies or earlier.
I doubt they wait until July to film the movies for November 2023 (probably Blade) and 2024.
Casting rumors and set reports will definitely leak soon.

I wonder when they are going to reveal the final 2023 mcu film and the 2024 films, as Marvel Studios is usually ahead of time announcing these things.

Fantastic Four or Blade should be filming soon if its the Q4 2023 movie.

I hope Marvel Studios decreases the amount of Disney+ shows coming out every year. I feel like the more I see another mcu show, the less eventful they become. Seeing shows for Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel and She hulk is intriguing as they haven't appeared before prior to their show. But Id be eXcited more if they debuted in a feature film. I also cannot muster any eXcitement for Echo and Agatha: House of Harkness.

I am not at the point yet where I will stop watching the MCU. I will continue to watch it, I may just not watch everything. Take for example the Marvel TV before Disney+. I didn't watch Cloak and Dagger and Runaways until recently. Never watched Hellstrom or Inhumans. Right now I don't plan on watching Secret Invasion and I have zero plans on watching season two of What If (it took me a long time to finish season one) and the only animated show I plan on watching is X-Men 97.

I think by the 10th to 15th MCU show, people aren't just going to watch every mcu show, so its important that Marvel Studios limit themselves to the shows they produce. Are Moon Knight and Hawkeye even popular? The movies will remain the main course.

If I have to guess the announced dates would be
Q4 2023- Blade (I can't picture F4 in Q4)
2024- Fantastic 4, Deadpool: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Always Never Home, Captain Americ4
2025- Shang-Chi 2, X-Men

...Feige said he came directly from Marvel Studio’s first in-person creative retreat in three years. The event, he said, featured a giant board “that takes us through the next decade and they are unique and special and they are meant for your theaters.”

He teased major 3D offerings and said Ryan Coogler is “working very hard” on the next installment of the Black Panther franchise. “Are we back? Yes, I know we’re back,” he said confidently, citing the studio’s collaboration and huge box office returns with Sony on Spider-Man: No Way Home. “In the next 10 years with existing characters and new characters and new storytelling tools with the multiverse, anything can happen.”

Disney Debuts ‘Avatar,’ ‘Lightyear’ and ‘Doctor Strange’ Footage During CinemaCon – The Hollywood Reporter

Thank goodness he mentioned the multiverse which can put to bed the critics that said they’re already tired of it and hope it ends with Doctor Strange 2 which to me, is really going to be the launching pad for the general audience besides No Way Home. X-Men, F4, Nova, Midnight Sons, Thunderbolts, and Young Avengers are definitely in that 10 year plan (I hope).

Hmmm. I feel like Marvel Studios only have few big hitters left to introduce in the movies - Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Deadpool, Daredevil and I guess Ghost Rider, I think that could work perform well under Marvel Studios and of course they could a handful of sequel for those ips. But after those five who are really left that can carry a movie? Not every obscure ip is going to do well like Guardians and Shang-Chi, and some might disappoint like Eternals.

I'm not sure about Nova. Thunderbolts seem like a straight to D+ project. Midnight Sons, they could just do a team up in a Ghost Rider movie. While Young Avengers just feel like a discount Avengers, i don't see it attracting the same interest as the Avengers.

I hope they have a clear finish line for this cinematic universe.

I think Nova can work as a big space opera. If they are going the lone Nova route with Thanos destroying them to get the power stone. All the stuff with the Worldmind and (preferably) Richard could be really interesting. He is basically a space cop trying keep a whole galaxy in order on his own. I think it could be really, really good.

Captain Marvel / Guardians of the GalaXy are the space opera of the MCU. And of course Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer could easily fill that space.

I think introducing him in Avengers or Capt. Marvel or Thor would be a good start. But Nova as a character doesn't seem that interesting imo to headline his own movies.

As for the NetfliX heroes
Daredevil - if rumours aretrue, he's on the TV side again
Jessica, Luke Cage, Punisher, Elektra - probably wouldn't get a solo movie if Daredevil couldn't
Iron Fist - this has potential but would be too similar to Shang-Chi

And then
Cloak & Dagger - with the right budget and team, this could work as we don't have a duo in the mcu co-headlining a movie (I don't count Ant-Man and the Wasp and Quantumania as those are technically Ant-Man movies)
Inhumans - probably bestto utilize in F4 and story wise, therearent much potential for them to carry their own movies
Runaways - feels like something for Disney+

I'd like a Namor movie but this another Universal Hulk situation.

I can see them talking about the 2023 and maybe 2024 movies at SDCC and announce the D+ shows/specials during D23
Maybe some further casting news (Fantastic 4) at D23

My guess is before the end of the year, we will get something that tells us what movies are coming in 2024. That could be SDCC or D23, or maybe even one of those montages they put on D+ later on the year. Regardless, we should get news about 2024 stuff and maybe the FF being cast or something.

I hope they confirm the 2023 TV side as well. Yeah we know a bunch of shows that are coming at some point in time, buy I would like to see what's coming in 2023 even if we don't get exact dates.

I called them moving up Ant-Man and the Wasp and Quantumania. The movie was further into development than some of their others so it seemed weird they had the release date so far away.

if they announced something later this year, we would probably finally get logos / film title for Deadpool and Captain Americ4. I think Shang-Chi 2 is possible. Eternals 2 would be surprising but not so much. While Marvel Studios' X-Men would be the biggest announcement.

outside of those four, I would be surprised if there's someone getting their own movie for the first time and its announced this year. Scarlet Witch? Jane Thor? Yelena? someone we haven't seen before?

I could see BW2 starring Yelena as a plausible announcement.

Im really confused about the whole Young Avengers thing. It feels really weird Marvel hasnt announced the project yet when most members have already been introduced. If they wait even more years, by the time the movie or show gets released the actors will all be older than 26 y/o. Wont feel as 'young avengers' to me, when its supposed to be a teen team.

About the mutants... yeah, the X-Men movie would be the biggest news this year, if it happens. Fingers crossed

Young Avengers must be a Disney+ project. Either way, its still a discount Avengers to me. They should just prioritize Avengers 5 and 6, rather a team composing of legacy characters, who would never make the same impact as their predecessor. I like She-Hulk and Jane Thor (and Spider-Woman). But I'm not interested in a team composing of Kate Bishop, Falcon, Yelena, and whoever there is that going to take the mantle of someone else. I'd prefer if marvel Studios prefer to go with someone more unique/ who has their own identity/codename/whatever there is that won't be compared to previous Avengers. thats why i liked when Eternals, Moon Knight and Shang-Chi were given their own project.

for the next 10 years I hope its like this
2024: Fantastic 4, Deadpool Homecoming, Captain America: Sam Wilson, Spider-Man: Always Never Home
2025: Shang-Chi 2, X-Men, Doctor Strange Rises, Eternals Part Two
2026: Black Panther Beyond Wakanda, Avengers 5, Spider-Man: Home Again, Ms. Marvel
2027: Blade II, X-Men 2, Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Captain Marvel: Civil War
2028: Shang-Chi 3, Spider-Man: No More Home, Eternals Part Three, Silver Surfer
2029: Avengers 6, X-Men 3, Blade III, Ghost Rider Begins
2030: Ms. Marvels, Fantastic 4: Doomsday, New Mutants
2031: X-Men 4, Silver Surfer Returns
2032: New Mutants Return, Avengers 7, X-Force, Ghost RIIder
2033: Fantastic 4 Frightful 4, X-Men 5, X-Factor
2034: New Mutants Forever, Avengers 8, X-Force Awakens, Silver Surfer Forever
2035: Ghost RIIIder, X-Men siX, X-Factor Investigations

I don't mind if we don't get movie #4 for Dr. Strange, Guardians of the GalaXy, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Capt. Marvel, Shang-Chi and Eternals. I don't really care for more Deadpool and Captain America movies though I can see Marvel giving Deadpool a trilogy. Sam Wilson could be one and done but it would depend at the boX office. I don't want a Black Widow movie featuring Yelena as the lead. A female Thor movie would be cool but I don't see it happening for now. I'm curious if Sony could make a seventh Spider-Man film with Tom Holland. I feel like Spider-Man 4 5 6 are happening just because Tom Holland is still young looking and that it is Sony's biggest money maker, but a Spider-Man Home 7?

I want confirmation that World War Hulk is actually happening.

I would rather have confirmation that World War Hulk is *not* happening, at least in any way that consists of "Hulk is the villain fighting all the heroes for stupid reasons". :p

So SDCC 2022 is two months away

- Fantastic Four release date, lead cast and director
- Blade release date
- Captain America: Sam Wilson release date and logo
- Deadpool reboot release date and logo
- Shang-Chi 2 or Eternalls release date and logo
- More Disney + shows

I would be surprised if Marvel Studios' X-Men is announced, as the upcoming films are already mostly reboots. We should get the complete 2023/24 slate in July.

Besides the multiverse stuff, it'd sure be nice to know the general direction of the MCU as it seems pretty aimless so far in Phase 4. While the Disney+ side is doing decently with the critics, the film side seems to be really hit-or-miss. Beginning to wonder if the pandemic causing production delays and schedule changes or just maybe Feige and Co. having way too many irons in the fire is starting to affect the quality of their film projects.

I think the big set of announcements after this upcoming one might have more chance of a first X-Men mention.
