Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

Honestly my head is spinning still. I am just overjoyed by everything - Lady Thor, Angelina, Multiverse, Wanda and Dr Strange crossover, Loki title reveal, Yelena Belova, Shang-Chi casting - it’s just so much awesomeness.

Agreed. Also, the choice to play Monica Rambeau wasn't a bad choice. Teyonah has made the most out of nothing roles for the most part. I thought that she was nothing more than a "token" character in Mad Men. I had not seen Dear White People. This is going to be a major role for her. It's like when I see Letitia Wright in anything outside the MCU, I think "oh it's Shuri!" If she makes adult Monica a fan favorite character in the MCU, this will be big for her and it could be the role people know her as.

I wasn't surprised that there wasn't any announcements of BP 2 since I don't even think Coogler has started. We know that Boseman, Wright, Gurira, Nyong'o and Bassett will be back. Let Coogler take his time on that one, make it just right. When he's ready, Marvel will announce the rest of the cast.

Well Phase 4 sounds interesting. Some stuff we got full titles of, some things were just mentioned including films some are surprise to see. As they reveal more as time goes on this will be a hopping forum.
It’s just had a shot in the arm and could get another one at D-23 if they expand on the things they just mentioned (or didn’t mention) but didn’t have time to cover today.

Superhero redemption time for David Harbour!

Also, Awkwafina is in the MCU. I loved her in Crazy Rich Asians.
He deserves to appear in a successful CBM.

Yes, I wasn’t expecting her lol.

Holding out hope that the MCU version of Norman Osborne is Denzel Washington.

Also, I was a bit surprised that they did not announce Benedict Wong and Chewitel Ejiofor for Dr. Strange 2.

Yeah strange. We know they’re in I guess.

So what were these rumours of Keanu Reeves? Doesn't look they were true.

If he’s Surfer or someone else not in the currently announced/covered films then he could be unveiled later (D23 maybe). There was already way too much content for them to get to everything today. There’s plenty of stuff we know for sure that wasn’t touched on today.

Still surprising that FF was barely a footnote in the presentation. A logo and a release year would have been a bit more exciting.
They didn’t even cover the sequels of their current big new billion dollar heroes like Black Panther and Cap Marvel. Everything in good time mate. :cwink:

I kinda want Norm to keep that greasy corporate look he's had for forever. But it would be nice to see peoples reaction if I got the chance to argue a race swap.

"Well obviously the best actor was chosen for the role... who else is better then Denzel freaking Washington. Daniel Day Lewis is retired."

He'd be a perfect Surfer.

yea I know youd just think for marvels first family they would want a grand announcement which i'm sure well get. it just felt a little cheap just they get a passing mention. I know its still early days though.

Yes, it would be a dream cast for me. It would probably be too big to drop in amongst all this if he were Surfer. Also give Ali some room as Blade for now. That is massive by itself.

Maybe they're saving the really big announcements for D23. They need to keep something for that.

It’s probably too big to drop in the middle of all this other stuff. Marvel need multiple events to cover the number of top projects being announced at the same time now! X-Men might not even get covered at the next one.

They’ve already got the option of doing F4, X-Men, BP2, CM2, and anything else like Keanu if he’s in lol. There’s too much left over even for D23 at this rate!

I really love Jane will be the new Thor, I can now say I’m looking forward to it.
Bye bye Chris

It also interesting that Feige used the term “mutants” instead of “X-Men”.
Could this mean Gambit, Multiple Man and X23 is still a possibility?
Could we see solo mutant movies or them showing up in a MCU movie?

In regards to BP2, I don't think Ryan Coogler was ready to announce anything new (such as new characters). CM2 did add a new character.....kind of.

A lot of us were wrong, haha. Most of us knew about Widow, Eternals and Shang-Chi, but nobody really expected Thor 4 and Blade. No real mention of other sequels just yet either.

I wouldn’t read too much into that. He was like just referring to the Mutants in general, and his wording was specifically referring to the race of characters and how they will be integrated into that universe. They’ve only been developing X-Men for a few months after got the rights back. No official title has been decided upon yet.

Mahershala Ali wanting to play Blade sped up the process by a lot because I didn't think we were going to see the character until at least near the end of Phase 5.
