MCU Power Tiers

The official MCU ranking is:

1- IG Thanos ( with the snap can kill half the life in the Universe, plus reality warp, can control time, etc )
2- Dormammu ( abstract )
3- Thor ( survived for several minutes the full power of a neutron star, overpowered a beam from all the infinity stones together and nearly one shotted Thanos, he would kill Thanos if hit him in the head said by the Titan himself. He can teleport now with the Bifrost and bust planets because we saw in Thor 1 that you can bust a planet in minutes if you let the bridge open )
4- Odin
5- Surtur
6- Ego

While I still think that the power stone boosts durability, I agree that baseline Thanos is probably similar strength and durability to the Hulk, with a lot more skill and ecperience. So we agree on something.

A shame that we don' t see how Thanos downed Thor at the beginning - whether he used the stone at all, because that would be a good comparison ( Ragnarok Thor > Hulk, baseline Thanos also > Hulk , and Thanos with power stone > Ragnarok Thor).

Yeah, it's a shame that the first Thor vs Thanos fight happens off screen (and that we never see if some of the refugees e.g. Valkyrie and Korg survive).
I imagine it as another Helicarrier style situation where he couldn't risk using his lightning on a ship full of refugees.

The Russos have SPECIFICALLY stated that Thanos without any power stones is stronger than Hulk. So I'm sure they meant to show
that with the Hulk vs Thanos fight, besides the Power Stone wasn't even in the gauntlet during their fight.

Remember he had taken it out to threaten Thor's life, well when Loki sicked Hulk on Thanos and Hulk tackled him he was holding it up Thor's head so logically it was knocked out of his hands.

Also yeah we have no idea how Ragnarok Thor stacks up against Thanos, we don't even know if Thanos fought him one on one or ambushed him with the Black Order. Remember Ebony Maw told Cull Obsidian to let Thanos have his fun, he wouldn't have had to say that if he told him to stay out of the Thor fight as well.

Are you sure about that ?
i remember seeing the tesseract go flying when Hulk blindsided Thanos, but I dont remember him removing the power stone, to torture Thor, I think he just held the Gauntlet against Thor's head - because if he held it in his hand it would react to him ( because he's organic just like all living things), and would fry him too. Also I remember him picking up the tesseract, but not the power stone.

I'll watch out for that when I see the movie again, later this week.

Still, I agree that baseline Thanos is probably at least the same level as the Hulk - and if the Russos say so it must be true.

They say he's stronger than Hulk not the same level and since that said that it lets me know that was the intended purpose of that scene.

But you're right he did
hold the gauntlet up to Thor's head.

I updated the specuative tier list to include new characters from Infinity War and Black Panther Movies as well as the Punisher Series. I will update Graviton into the group once we have seen everything he is capable of to fully gauge his powers with all feats recognized.

Also, be aware we are slowly going to begin integrating battles here and there with established characters that seem to have under gone a large power shift post Infinity War. In these cases where the characters seem to have under gone a large power increase they will have the opportunity to battle characters at the top of their tier for placement. If they win they will be placed in Blue at the top of their tier unless their is enough of a consensus with fans to place the character into the next tier. In this case the character would not only win against the top of the tier character, but move to the bottom of the next tier list in Green, so they can continue the battle up that tier. Also, if a character is either already at the top of their tier or earns the top tier spot, we are now going to allow these characters to battle into the next tier. An example of this would be Thor Vs. Ultron Prime. If Thor was to battle Ultron Prime and win he would then place above Ultron Prime in Green, so he can continue battling upward. However, even if Thor was to lose he could still be voted into the bottom of the tier above in Blue due to an overwhelming fan response saying that is the tier he belongs in. So, keep an eye out for some of these battles to be periodically intermingled with fights made to establish the Speculative characters.

If anyone sees any other characters that need to be added, please let me know.

Thanks!

Strange even being in the same tier as Thanos with the IG is nonsensical, Thanos with the time stone > Strange with the time stone. Thanos literally tempted Strange into using it, Strange did not because he knew that it wouldn't have gotten him anywhere.

Odin is also way too high, this isnt comic book Odin people. This is the same Odin that couldn't do anything to Hela but keep her locked up (and yes, if he could have ended her he most definitely would have) and outright admitted inferiority to Thor.

Fenris is also too high. Should be in the same tier as Hulk since they were clearly well matched.

Scarlet Witch is too low, shes a bonafide powerhouse

Stormbreaker Thor is OP af. Should be in the same tier as the likes of Hela and Thanos (w/o Gauntlet)

Calm down it's all speculative and I never agreed with Strange being so high anyway. Also keep in mind Odin defeated Prime Surtur (the end of the film Surtur), who is definitely cosmic so therefore Odin is cosmic as well since he beat him.

Keep in mind most of these placements were made before Infinity War, so mostly anything new hasn't been added. We've had conversations about Scarlett moving up a tier and Stormbreaker Thor should be at the top of Transcendent Tier or low Cosmic Tier. But the way tier placement works they have to battle their way to gaining their positions.

I think we should start having 3 battles a week each in different tiers to move things along faster.

A lot of pretty curious takes here.

Here is a project we have been working on and building for what, 8 months now?

"These are all wrong!" Thanks haha

Surfer, I think Maw should start at powerhouse tier and battle up. He doesn't quite fit the criteria for transcendent, other than defeating another powerhouse, which obviously can happen with a powerhouse vs powerhouse. Given the scale of each tier, I think we'd be better off battling him up the powerhouse tier and into the trans tier, if need be.

That's mostly my fault, I'm the one who recommended he gets placed in the Transcendent tier and upon further review that was a mistake on my behalf.

Dont worry man, I'm not triggered, I am fully aware a lot of this stuff is speculative and educated guessing.

I dont think we know enough about that to say, was Odin alone? Probably not. Did he have prep? Probably.

Hey everyone, new battle is up. Check out my sig for the link.

How is Mantis higher than Gamora and Nebula? The latter 2 could one-punch Mantis to death (in GOTG2 anyway). While Mantis can control one's feelings and put a person under, she'd have to survive more than one hit/kick or have the element of surprise. And she isn't the sneaky type.

I mean she can put characters as powerful as Ego and Thanos to sleep, but yeah she would get crushed by Gamora in hand to hand.

My number one in terms of power gains id probably say Black Widow

Number one in terms of power levels dropping in this film is Vision. I know him being weaked was part of the story but as Patches O'Houlihan would say: "My god son your about as much use as a ****-flavoured lollipop."

Lol what did Black Widow do? Besides use someone's weapon against them?

Im not meaning she's now some OP monster lol just from her previous Avengers films she seemed to make some major gains.

Think about Avenger's one where she takes on a chituari soldier she looks to be struggling much more there than she is at really any point in this movie. (plus she held her own against Glaive and Midnight who as children of Thanos I have to assume are much more powerful than a normal chituari or Ultron robot just never expected her to have such success against them I suppose.)

True

The problem is she needs skin contact (unlike Scarlet Witch when she used to have her mind powers). Which means she has to get close enough to the enemy to touch them. That automatically makes her mind control powers much less powerful. Because the chances of her not getting crushed before that happens, are slim to none. Unless it's a sneak attack ala IW but for that she needs a team up.

But I'm kind of baffled by so many GOTG characters outranking Gamora and Nebula. Star-Lord and Yondu too? What has Yondu done in terms of feats that I missed?

All characters in red are just speculative placements, it's not indicitive of their final placements or where they stand.

That's nice and all but what have Star-Lord and Yondu (and Mantis) done in terms of feasts that places them ahead of Nebula and Gamora? Yondu has displayed nothing but a whistle that sends an arrow to do all the feasts for him. Star-Lord only had powers on Ego, he still has Celestial DNA but no powers. So I'm confused about them being higher than people who have actually displayed feasts that are part of their regular power set.

They aren't "ordered" yet. They'll go down or up depending on how they do in certain fights. And weapons count as powers to some degree. IM for example has no powers, but he has a suit. Yondu is the only one who can control the arrow.

Idk I didn't created most of the Power Tier, I came on board later.

It was Surfer and Jaqua99 at first, so ask them.
