Homecoming MCU Spider-Man Spider-Sense

"Peter Parker, scientist, photographer, student, searching for a way to get J.Jonah Jameson off his back. When an accidental bite from a Radioactive Spider changed his life. Now whenever Peter is in danger a startling metamorphosis occurs , he becomes The Amazing Spider-Man."

:funny: :funny: :lmao:

Thank you. I'll be here all week. XDBut seriously I just wanna see some yellow in the Spider-Sense in general be it a twinkle in his eyes, squiggly lines over head, give it some color.

If they went with yellow, I would prefer something like a quick flash.

Although, they would probably have to go with another effect during action sequences.

I wouldn't mind his Spider-Sense be represented as a camera lens flare that intensifies as danger gets closer. It could also be accompanied by a sound similar to the "Raimi" sound and it too gets intense and distorted as danger nears

I always liked the 1970's TV show Spidey Sence

*Shudders* love your idea, i hate you for finding the most nightmarish pic lol jk

Now, that's great

Bottom line, for me;
No bullet time.
Make it visual.
If there is a sound effect make it enhance the visual rather than replace the visual.

And above all else DON'T IGNORE IT. Yes, Spider-Man is incredibly difficult to write given he can sense danger thus removing tension but good writers should be able to write compelling plots despite not being able to surprise the main protagonist.

Does the Spider-Sense hurt Peter's head? I'd like to see a point where he just gets a huge headache because his Spider-Sense rings too the max.

Yes, if the danger is big enough the spider-sense hurts him. Examples like when Terrex The Tamer (Herald of Galactus) raised the entirety of Manhattan, the pain of the spider-sense almost knocked him out.

Cool, I din't know that. I'd like to see them explore that a bit. Perhaps even have smarter villains like the Vulture, Doc Ock, and Kingpin figure that out and use it to turn the Spider-Sense against him.

I'll just settle for them not ignoring the spider-sense when it is convenient. Lazy writing out its worst.

These are his powers, now work around the problem.
Not ignore the powers because you want to catch Spider-Man unawares.
Spider-Man CAN'T be caught unawares, so be clever and use misdirection (for example).

Or how about the background goes dim and we see sort of like a "plasma lamp" effect around his head. Kinda looks like the wavy lines from the comics

Now if there is a visual cue is it something we the viewers just see. Or would it be something others could see.

I'm curious, what if they do just do bullet time again.

I could also see the Spider-Sense something like the BBC Sherlock detective mind sorting thing. Like maybe for a breif moment his brain makes everything seem frozen. Everything that's not a threat is immediately swipped out, everything that might be a threat is dimmed, the main threat glows brightly and Peter dodges it.

Nah, no more freezing time. The spider-sense doesn't freeze time. It's described by Spider-man as a tingling sensation in the head. Sometimes it's painful (as mentioned above) but it's always a sudden jarring experience that is involuntary. It alerts him to danger in the vicinity that he is not yet aware of, and occasionally it indicates the direction of the danger.

However, as well as functioning like an alarm, it can also function like a natural radar. There was a time in the 90's cartoon where he was surrounded by a bunch of holographic Mysterios holding weapons. Only one of them was real. Spider-man closes his eyes and uses his spider sense to identify and attack the real Mysterio.

As I said before, Spider-man has an enhanced awareness of his surroundings, yet he only experiences this heightened awareness for brief moments at a time in the form of the spider sense, which for him includes a strange physical sensation (tingling) and may distort his perception in psychedelic ways. The enhanced awareness also includes a sensitivity to certain radiowaves, which is why he was able to invent a transmitter (in the form of a tracer) which triggers his spider sense. This means a villain could potentially create a radio frequency that would alert or even harm spider-man by triggering his spider sense.

There have been 40 years of animated Spider-Man shows and 1 TV series and (imho) every single one of them have done a better job of representing the spider-sense then the movies which for me have either misrepresented the spider-sense (bullet time), used a cheap and lazy sound effect or ignored the spider-sense entirely.

Oh yeah, I loved the 90's show Spider-Sense.

Some instances of the Spider-sense made NO SENSE. For instance, when Spider-Man's spider-sense goes off after the Stacy's dinner with Lizard clear across town on the bridge but no kicking off then he was in the same proximity to Lizard in the sewer. How does that make any sense?

what if instead of the half mask appearing, they show it as kind'v Matrix-ie effect of an after image (or pre-image if you well) of Spider-man splitting off from Peter, making the move to dodge the danger a split second before it actually happens

or even while he's Spider-man when fighting or something you can see a almost ghostly image of him making the move just before, countering his opponent's attack

like his mind is mapping out/predicting a couple moves ahead

That'd be awesome You know, it's things like this that make yourealize the Spider-Sense is a really badass power.

Again, that is not representing what the spider-sense IS.

The spider-sense warns him of danger and that's it. So if a villain is throwing a punch, or if he is stood in front of a bomb, the spider-sense is a 'buzzing' instead his head.

Imho the best way to represent that is how they do it in the various Spider-Man animated TV series down the years. A visual distortion accompanied by a sound effect. That is all it needs, any more elaborate than that and you are misrepresenting what the spider-sense is.
