MCU vs thread....controversy and chaos

Off topic but looks like the Suicide Squad didn't do well as many predicted. That doesn't bode well for Eternals and Shang Chi. Marvel really needs to go to better named, yet more exotic heroes because I can see this phase getting off to a very slow start. I don't get why Silver Surfer or F4 isn't being fast tracked, especially with no more Iron Man.

This feels like a non-sequitur, given that it overlooks the giant elephant in the room: the pandemic. Before trying to blame the actual or predicted failure of various movies, on features of said movies, it might be best to look first and foremost at the ambient conditions of the world itself. Or, swapping out a C list hero for a B list hero isn't going to magically make the coronavirus or its related economic depression go away.

Anyway, Daredevil vs Red Guardian? Eh, Matt is good, but he's not as good as either Natasha or Taskmaster, and he certainly doesn't have the weapons of either. He's certainly way more skilled than RG is in the present, but I'm dubious of how much he can actually hurt the guy with just his fists or a billy club. I'd say Red Guardian wins, but it takes *way* longer than anyone would expect, both from Matt's skill and his rather insane stubbornness. Fight ends with the Guardian much more bruised and bloodied than he expects, and Matt in traction for months after having gotten up from a "telling blow that will surely end the fight" a couple times.

Uummmmmmmmmm, no. According to data, even the views on HBO max wasn't that high either. I'm not going to say it is superhero fatigue because I really don't believe in that but people are not going to waste their money on D list characters. But like I said, we will see.

Again, we will see. Black Widow's numbers speak volume about the lesser known character's earning potential. Speak of which...............did anyone actually go the movies recently?! It use to be $14 now it has jumped all the way up to $25! So a family of four is spending $100 and that's not even including food!!

Yeah. Numbers are going to be down because of COVID. BW actually is the highest grossing movie this year in the US and numbers may not get too much higher in the near future. Comparing this year's crop to pre COVID numbers just doesn't make any sense. This may be the new normal for the time being.

I've gone to see Quiet Place 2, BW, and Jungle Cruise at the local Cinemark. Tuesday noon matinees only in the XD (premium) theater. 10 bucks. There were only a few other people in there.

You are right. Just looked. My freaking local theater just charged me that but AMC prices are still the same! SMDH! Price gouging now is ridiculous! But I will say this: some of these box office productions are ridiculous. Suicide Squad's budget is $185M! It should not be nowhere near that high, even with a villain like Starro. This could probably be made for around $100M so they could get their budget back and more. Just saying. But I digress. I've been drinking Bacardi and not 100% so I will end this here.

Then stay away from the Bacardi. I suggest top shelf Appleton. I was in Jamaica some time back and got some of the real deal S***. The most enjoyment I ever got out of Bacardi was from a bottle of 151. I picked up some guy hitchhiking when I was in Washington on my way back to Cali. He asked me if I had anything to drink. I'd been backpacking and everyone knows 151 doesn't weigh much but can deliver a punch. I told him he shouldn't drink it straight, but he told me it was all good. His reaction was gold.

As for Eternals and Shang-Chi, Disney is probably more concerned about how Free Guy performs rather than TSS. It's their next big theater exclusive release and it's box office performance might influence what Disney does with their Shang-Chi.

I hate to keep harping on this but there is talk of Shang Chi being pushed back or even being a Disney plus release because the hype is not where it should be. Marvel really need to rethink their phase 4 release schedule. Pandemic or not, I don't see either of those movies doing well.

Correction: it will only have a 45 day theater release. This is DOA. This character is to obscure and I know..........covid but even without covid, this movie was destined to under perform..............same as with Eternals but we will continue to blame covid for these 2. I have been on record as saying these are to obscure of characters for Marvel to lead the Phase 4 set. But come at me for being right!

Just saw online that they won't be delayed because Disney is using Shang Chi and Eternals as "experiments" so to speak. Tells you all you need to know about what they know about those films.

You know the traditional issue of Magneto vs Iron Man? Same thing here, more or less. This is a two hit fight: Ebony Maw "hits" Iron Man, and Iron Man hits the ground. If this were the nanotech armor, that might allow for some defense, but its not. Its conventional solid tech, which means Tony comes in his own coffin prebuilt for the fight.

Um, Thanos. In a walk. I feel like people are *waaay* exaggerating the power of her alleged powerup, based on material drawn from the comics moreso than actual evidence in the story. Even at the very end of WandaVision, Wanda didn't perform feats any more extreme in magnitude than she had been performing before; the only thing that really changed was she did qualitatively *different* things with her massive power. At best, her Scarlet Witch powerup means that she can defend herself from Thanos just choosing to Win Instantly using the Reality Stone. That isn't going to matter a wit when he also has all five other Stones.
