I don't know about Kurt in the comics, but didn't the TAS explain that Mystique was posing as a German noblewoman and Kurt being born blue and furry would have exposed her?

If I'm not mistaken, she was posing as a noblewoman but the doctors saw blue/fuzzy Kurt before she could hide him. Then she dumped him in the river.

Oh right. Which would probably have saved his life. Very biblical and super fitting for the character. I can't wait to see him in the MCU. I hope he's adventurous and charming instead of the awkward versions we have from Fox.

I need Mystique to be connected to Kurt. But it's the Raven-Irene-Rogue relationship I'm more interested in seeing developed and explored. Such an unique relationship between women Marvel has the opportunity to bring to the MCU.

I find Kurt one of the most sympathetic characters in comicbooks. I want the MCU Kurt to be extremely charismatic and sympathetic as well. That kind of character you want to be friends with.

She arguably did reform and become a superhero (at least not a villain), albeit on the basis of self-interest, early on in her time in the Claremont comics, being willing to work for the government for a pardon.

BTW it might seem a little misogynistic/homophobic if a lesbian villain was depicted as earlier having abandoned her newborn Kurt though there might not be a backlash if it's emphasized that she had no other choice to survive in the time and place.

Backlash over that is proof of how backlash over such things is moronic and ridiculous.

^^^ I don't know what the heck Singer was trying to do with Kurt, but it sure wasn't Nightcrawler. The new movies got closer, but its still a far cry from the furry blue elf we know and love.

And speaking of Mystique, I know she's already in Legion, but I'd love to see Aubrey Plaza take the role in the MCU.

Kodi in Apocalypse was much closer to comic Kurt imo. I actually really liked him. Not sure why Singer tried to make him a darker, more serious character in X2. The Nightcrawler I grew up with was swashbuckling fun and charismatic. It was supposed to contrast his appearance.

I think from all supporting characters from the FOX-verse, Kurt was the one who got the best treatment. He had his strong faith and religious background; he had his accent and german origin; there was at least an attempt to make him fun/funny; he came from a circus; he had a good heart, which is what contrasts to his appearance. He also had a somewhat decent arc in X2 and show-stealing action sequence. He was the closest thing we got from that diversity we see in the X-Men comics.

On the other hand, other blue characters like Beast and Raven couldn't be blue for long. Characters like Rogue and Colossus didn't get their accent or origin right. Kurt was more than just power display like Bishop. He had lines unlike Psylocke. And he had... his name said out loud, unlike Jubilee.

He got a very decent treatment... For FOX standards, it was decent.

I’ll just be happy to see Nightcrawler, Rogue and Storm have actual dialogue and character development this go round.

The dynamic between Rogue, Mystique, Destiny, and Nightcrawler from X-men Evolution is what I'd like to see as the inspiration going into these MCU movies.

On the topic of Nightcrawler, his new and hunky beard is giving him some attention on social media these days. He was also voted as the number one favourite X-men in the X-men comics Editor's unofficial just-for-fun twitter poll recently.

I've definitely been wanting Ramin Djawadi back for X-Men. I've alway liked the idea of having a Rock-orchestrated score like Iron Man for the X-Men. That's what they did for the iconic Wasserman theme from the 90s TAS

I'd like Kurt's teleportation to actually look like purple smoke this time around.

Nightcrawler's BAMF effect looked fine both times. Great even. I'm not all that curious how they can improve on that. Even Gordon on SHIELD had rad teleport SFX on him. I sense the real improvement is gonna come from fleshing out Kurt as a character, same with a lot of the X-mainstays who made it into the movies before.

I want to see the circus rather than just hearing about it.

I want more swashbuckling from Kurt. Get a sword in his hand/foot/tail. I wanna see him and Psylocke double-team Spiral.

Oh well I suppose it’s like spidey’s thwip. If it’s not broke don’t fix it

I've said this here before, Kurt invading the White House in X2 is my favorite action sequence in CBM to this day. I hope they get a director who's very creative with action scenes.

It’s definitely the best solo X-Men action scene. Was so good when it came out. Great way to open the film.

Yeah, Azazel too already looked good. Although they could get more ambitious with how he uses it like teleporting multiple allies and villains mid-battle mid-move.

It was back when the deal was announced. The Disney execs are crazy to reboot Wolverine, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Winter Soldier had Black Widow, Bucky, Falcon and Fury. I'm sure there's enough room for like 2 or 3 X-Men in the Wolverine movies.
Thanks. Sounds good. At least mutants if not main team X-Men. He can have his own task force.

Yeah, I definitely see Wolverine having his own crew, TWS style. My pitch featured Fantomex and Armor working with him.

I think everybody saw Dark Phoenix's new poster released today. I'd love to see Marvel making a "comicbook poster", but mirroring this cover:

But instead with the Avengers in the back and the X-Men "invading" the MCU.

Marvel did someone similar to this with Homecoming. They released a poster mirroring Spidey's first appearance in Amazing Fantasy 15

So I could see them doing it for the X-Men as well.
