MCU: Your Thoughts About The Infinity Stones (SPOILERS INSIDE)

I remember an Interview around SDCC (not necessarily from the SDCC, but around that time), I might have to do some research to find it, but I'm pretty sure it is out there

You should find that quote. This board has settled on the Aether being the Reality Stone but until it is confirmed it is just speculation. I am not disagreeing that the Aether is the Reality Stone, just pointing out that there is no confirmation of this claim.

speaking about Aether. I just finished rewatching Thor 2 and one moment caught my attention. When Odin tells the story about Aether he says "Malekith wanted to use the aether's power to return the universe to one of darkness". We don't know how Aether worked - is it simply reality bending or something a bit complicated. Maybe Aether can turn time back or forward. Could this mean that Aether is not a Reality but Time Stone?

I thought about that too

Will the Mind Gem and Tesseract both be blue?

Will the Tesseract be broken open and revealed to be green? yellow?

I definitely see this as a possibility, either of those colors could work if the tesseract casing is some sort of filter.

The teaser trailer for "Infinity War" pretty much confirms that The Sceptre *is* the Mind Stone after all.

I've been one of the leading opponents of that theory, but the fact that the trailer focused specifically on the Sceptre while it was showcasing the Tesseract, Aether, and Power Stone leaves no room for doubt.

So...
Tesseract (Space)
Aether (Reality)
Orb of Morag (Power)
Loki's Sceptre (Mind)

All that's left is Soul and Time.

Maybe Dr. Strange will involve the Soul stone?

That's definitely what I'm thinking. And I think the Time Gem will be a part of Guardians 2. I have this feeling that in the end, we'll have that moment where someone (the villain) offers to transport Peter back to the day he was abducted, so that he can be with his family and "have his childhood back" but he declines and uses it to kill whoever it may be.

If anything I see it being the other way around.

Soul Stone will have to do with Warlock or Feige will have the white hot fires of a thousand burning fan-rages to answer to.

Dr Strange may have some play in the Time stone, or no stone at all.

That being said, I'd say it might be more likely to see the Time Stone appear along side Red Skull or Kang at this point.

I'd agree with this.

It seems natural that GOTG2 would introduce Warlock/Magus (with Magus as the principal villain), and expand on Warlock's ties to Thanos. And if that's the case, it's a given that the Soul Gem/Stone would be part of his story.

Let Dr. Strange deal with the Time Stone.

How is this confirmed? You mean the image of Thanos with the gauntlet, which has a blue gem? Because that blue stone could be any other, it doesn't have to be the same one that was in the scepter... Or is there something else I haven't seen?

No, because the trailer repeatedly shows Loki's scepter while also repeatedly showing the aether and the tesseract, while voice-overs talk about the stones, and then it shows Thanos with all the stones. It makes absolutely zero sense to repeatedly include the scepter if it does not contain a stone.

Ah ok cool.
I never saw that, only the image of Thanos with the gauntlet.
Thanks

Oh...and the trailer also included scenes of the stone from Guardians...I forgot about that one, but its in there.

By the way...that trailer is incredible...despite being mostly scenes from previous films...it'd have been amazing to see it live as it was announced.

It hasn't been.

No, it's not *officially* confirmed; but if it turns out NOT to be the case, then whoever created the teaser-stinger for Infinity War really likes closeups of Loki's Staff thrown into the mix with all the other Stones for no apparent reason.

4 objects were repeatedly shown in that trailer...and 3 of them are definitely Infinity Stones. If the other one is not then...I don't know...Marvel are a bunch of morons...or they are intentionally using a trailer that leaked its way onto the web as a red herring.

At the very least I'd say that it is impossible for a reasonable person to watch that and not come away thinking that it's one of the Infinity stones.

The Gauntlet in the teaser didn't have two blue stones so one of them will almost certainly change color. The only question is which of the two will, and what color will it change to?

I've only seen this picture, but I can't see the stone that's supposed to be on the thumb.

I know there should be one there, it's a white/grey one on the thumb on the prop what was displayed at SDCC:

So with Loki's scepter/The Mind Gem in Age of Ultron do you think there will be some further build-up to the Infinity plot in the movie? Maybe in the post-credits scene?

They're obviously not going to have two blue stones. Until someone cracks open the Tesseract and the inside is revealed to have a delicious green, yellow or orange filling I will continue to remain unconvinced.
