MCU: Your Thoughts About The Infinity Stones (SPOILERS INSIDE)

While personally I disagree, there are people who believe Vision's stone will be the Soul Gem. I thought I ad this line of thought here

Don't think I'd like that. The soul gem is linked to Adam Warlock. It (and he) should appear in GotG 2 to my mind.

The movies never follow the comics exactly so that wouldn't stop them from changing it up.

However i don't believe it's a Soul Gem. IF it's an Infinity Gem I think they will discover the Mind Gem in the Scepter. Since the merchandise has hinted that Ultron is granted sentience after being connected to the Mind Gem, there could be a chance the Avengers (or Ultron) harness that power to give life to the Vision.

The gem on his forehead might not even be THE gem, just something powered by it.

That or Doctor Strange.

I have a feeling that the Time Gem is going to be part of Thor: Ragnarok since there is no way that the end of all things can happen and Chris Hemsworth would still be contracted for another film if it didn't time resetting and it's the best place to introduce the Time Gem.

So, SPOILERS

Loki's scepter is indeed confirmed to house the Mind Stone. We now have seen four of the six.

Where do you think we will see the final Stones?

There are three movies I could see one of them debuting in before Infinity War Part 1; Doctor Strange, Guardians 2 and Thor: Ragnarok. If I had to guess I'd say Doctor Strange and Guardians 2.

Yeah. I could see Ragnarok just having a minor point about Thanos snatching the Tesseract.

So there's only 2 infinity stones that we haven't seen yet?

Seeing the mind stone was one of the things I liked on Avengers 2

What I find interesting about the Stones is how they have been discovered. Only the Power Gem in GotG was its natural self. Yes, it was found in the orb, but it wasn't powering it.

With the 3 other stones, they have almost been hidden as power sources. The Space Gem powers the cube, the Reality Gem the Aether, and the [BLACKOUT]Mind Gem the scepter.[/BLACKOUT] They are basically endless power sources, hiding their true power and potential. I think this is rather neat. I personally can't wait to see someone crack open the Tesseract and remove the stone.

The aether is by far the weirdest one. Odin said it was always fluid in nature so it may just forge a stone like shape within the gauntlet.

So what are people's thoughts as to which Stone the Aether was? We have [BLACKOUT] Scepter confirmed for the Mind Stone[/BLACKOUT] the Tesseract for the Space Stone, and the Orb for the Power Stone. The Aether has yet to be identified but the remaining options are Soul, Time, and Reality.

I personally thing perhaps it might be a weakened form of the Reality Gem.

I think we can rule out the Time Stone. I would go with the Aether being the Reality Stone since, to me, Malekith seemed like he was trying to change reality at the end of Thor: The Dark World through his use of the Aether.

Edit: Feige says only Time and Soul are unaccounted for so it seems that the Aether is indeed the Reality Stone: http://www.craveonline.com/entertai...ty-stones-civil-war-and-more-marvel-studios/3

I think someone named Spider-Fan called that the day he saw Thor: The Dark World. Vindication!

Looks to me like Time will be in Ragnarok, and Soul I am thinking is in GotG2, but possibly could be in Dr. Strange.

Wow, I dunno if you have noticed, but the poster who called that has the same screen name as you, strange coincidence.

I know, right!

I still maintain that the Time Gem is going to be part of Thor: Ragnarok. Ragnarok is a cycle in the comics which Odin prevents through the use of time travel. (Hence why in the Eddas, Thor was a redhead, Sif was blonde and Heimdall was fairest of the gods.)

The Time Gem needs to be present to save the universe from Surtur and keep Ragnarok as a reset button.

The Soul Gem is either going to be the Eye of Agamotto in Doctor Strange or it's going to be part of Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Considering that Guardians 2 pretty much needs to establish Adam Warlock for Infinity War and he has the Soul Gem in the comics, that's the more likely option. In which case, the plot is presumably going to be based on the Abnett/Lanning run where the Matriarch and Universal Church of Truth were the main antagonists. The Universal Church of Truth worship the Magus who is Adam Warlock's evil counterpart and will presumably be the villain in Infinity War: Part 2. My guess is that the plot of Guardians 2 is going to revolve around Adam Warlock being mistaken for the Magus and worshiped as their god against his will.

Source???

Captain Marvel will likely be one stone. Either Strange or Ragnarok will be the other. But I hope it's Strange, because Dark World already had and Infinity Stone plot. So, give some other heroes some infinity Stone fun.

Strange: Time Stone
Captain Marvel: Soul Stone

I would say Strange would be the one with the Soul stone. It would make more sense.

If you've seen AoU it's pretty clear that Vision is taking the place of Adam Warlock. People thought that Adam Warlock was coming due to the easter egg scene in Thor TDW, but it's clear from James Gunn's statments and others that there's no plans for Adam Warlock.

I was in denial about this but I think this is true. They are changing things up big time. I believe the soul stone will be introduced in Strange. And it will introduce the supernatural aspect of the MCU. Warlock may not even play a role in this.

Let's put it this way, it's Infinity war, not Infinity Gauntlet. It's also split into two films. It's obvious that we'll see Warlock and Magus play a role.

Do we know for a fact that [BLACKOUT]the scepter is the Mind Stone and not the Soul Stone. Obviously, they spent a lot of time talking about how it was essentially a brain, but it also has a lot of similarities to what the Soul Gem can do and the Vision has some parallels to Adam Warlock[/BLACKOUT]?

Granted, I tend to agree with the consensus, I just wonder if there's anything official.

What they did with Vision's stone in AoU was so cheap and rediculous from a screenwriting point of view. I mean really ? that yellow thing in the scepter that nobody knew existed is suddenly now your Infinity Stone ?

How about you make films that focus on the one good storyline you had since the Avengers ?

They relied so heavily to The Winter Soldier and AoU to bind their pretty weak storylines and they ended up doing nothing with it. The events of Cap 2 basically didn't really matter in AoU except for the after credit scene with the twins.

It amazes me how people don't see these mistakes and others are accusing Joss Whedon of ruining Marvel when he only tried to save it.

No, I'm pretty sure there has been no official confirmation from Feige.
