Not really, it's actually pretty true. Most folks do things either consciously or subconsciously to either fit in with others or try to differentiate themselves from others. It's a rare breed that truly don't value what others think of them.

Nope, individual identity for most folks is a carefully crafted persona designed to attract either a specific person or more likely a specific group of people. Humans are social creatures. Without the acceptance of a group of peers (no matter how small) it manifest in numerous disturbing ways such as a mass shooting. Look up articles on people who have been locked I. Solitary confinement for several years. It literally drives them insane.

He's making a generalization saying that those who aren't accepted into society will shoot up school and go insane, I am simply opposing his statement saying that not everyone who is not accepted goes insane.

Homie, you're the one who took what I said personally. Nothing I said was about you. I was referencing the recent shooter we had here in the USA who's only outlet for acceptance was a 4Chan board full of sociopaths that egged him on to do the shooting. You, on the other hand, may not have a huge group of friends you hang out with IRL (just like me when I was your age) but you have this forum that is full of like-minded nerds/geeks who may bust your balls a little, but we would never tell somebody to do something like that. Of course, that is an extreme case and thankfully most folks who don't have the benefit of tons of IRL people have healthier ways of getting the acceptance they crave.

Case in point, when I started posting on these forums I told all kinds of stupid and inconsequential lies to try and seem like a big shot for people I will never meet. That's just where I was at in life due to my alcoholism. Nowadays I have tons of good friends and a robust social life thanks to working a program that demands rigorous honesty of me.
