Megan Fox Steps in Jennifer's Body

I forgot cloudy with a chance of meatballs came out this weekend.

I saw the move last night and I actually enjoyed it very much. Theater was small but it was pretty much bursting at the seams with people. I'm not expecting it to do huge nnumber but I was pleanty entertained. Came away with a good chunk of one-lines my girlfriend and I kept saying the rest of the night.

This isn't the type of movie that would test any persons ability to actaully act very much, it's just funny and campy with a heaping helping of gore and girlfighting. I thought Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried carried the movie really well and I loved the dialogue. Strange considering I didn't like the dialogue in Juno half as much as I liked it in Jennifer's Body. Some would find it jarring but I've got a 16-year old sister and some of the things she says are pretty much just along the lines of the teens in the film and it was hilarious. Slang is usually dictated by where you live.

I wish the movie had been longer, to flesh out the story a bit more. I would have liked a better sense of the friends that Needy and Jennifer where before the band came to town. I got the impression that their friendship was true which was what kept Jennifer from killing Needy initially but it couldn't withstand her need to feed on flesh. So she would pretty much destroy everything around Needy without killing her. I also wish they would have delved into whether a part of Jennifer was still in her body or was it all demon.

Beat out by another crappy pointless Tyler Perry Filth...er...film...

Clearly you don't get what Perry's films are supposed to be about.

Jennifer's Body Dead On Arrival!

How disappointing!
Megan Fox's new horror movie, Jennifer's Body, opened at #5 at the U.S. box office on Friday, only pulling in $2.7 million in ticket sales!
The flick, penned by Juno's Diablo Cody, is expected to earn $7 mil by the weekend's close, securing its place as a box office bomb.
Haha FOX fails again. The studio not the girl.

I just hope Cody does another book soon if her screenwriting career starts to slow down. Her memoir was awesome.

Not a good couple of weeks for Horror.

And the reason this didn't good is cause people are like I'm just gonna wait for dvd, so that way I can view the good parts.:whatever:

Or because the horror films that have come out this year (save for Drag) have been crappy?

interesting

I see this becoming a big movie on dvd then. You know how some under perform at the theaters, but do good on dvd. I think this one will be one of them.

Man, I didn't think the film would open that badly. This is really going to take Cody's career two steps backwards.

^ Dunno man, I think this is gonna be a huge bullet she's about to take.

It may effect Diablo Cody's career, but it won't effect the career of producer Jason Reitman.

what are the good parts that will be on the DVD but can't be in the theatrical film?

I wonder about that too. Big Trouble in Little China was critically panned when it came out in theaters but has gone on to become a classic. I don''t know if it will be as well recieved as BTiLC but I know I enjoyed it Jennifer's Body.

It's doing exactly like I expected. Heck, I might go see this myself...you know with my niece and nephew...because they want to see it too. :o

it does look like a good movie. I saw a clip of it when Bill Hader came on Conan last week. It was pretty funny.

Mmm....that opening spot...sucks...and is hilarious. I haven't seen the movie, but if it couldn't beat out H2 in an opening weekend and fails to reach the top 3, that's got to mean something. Is Megan Fox REALLY that marketable? Or does she need CGI robots to help her out? I'm going to check this out sometime soon, but I just have to be curious as to how the actual movie is. I've read some reviews, and the underlineing tone from the reviews I'm getting is that it's not exactly what it appears to be, which I expect anyways from the misleading tv spots and ads for the movie.

But really....#5 spot? Maybe it'll boost back up by Monday's reports.

Every movie that bombs at the boxoffice isn't going to become a cult classic. No matter what you think of the flick it is a failure and huge disappointment at best.

I really hope JB's failure stops all of that "Megan Fox is a huge star" talk. She isn't a huge star, people went to see Transformers because it had big robots in it.

Also, I see some are trying to pretend this is Cody's failure alone. Most of this movie ads were about Megan Fox, this is more Fox's failure than Cody's.

It bombing doesn't mean that it's a bad movie. I just wanted to say that.

Is it really that surprising that this movie flopped? SHH loves Megan Fox yet only three people here actually saw the movie! That right there should have been a sign.

I think this is gonna hinder Diablo Cody's career.

Diablo Cody has nothing to worry about. United States of Tara, her TV series on Showtime, is a hit and is up for a couple of Emmy's tomorrow. This was just a bump in the road for her.

I just want to say again that it's ridiculous for anybody to believe that a screenwriter is going to take the brunt of this failure. Most people don't give a s**t about screenwriters, the actors are the most visible entity of a movie. This movie was sold as Megan Fox's movie.

MEGAN FOX will be hurt by this failure, MEGAN FOX will go crawling back to M-Bay. She should stop b**ching about the terrible but popular director who made her or she won't be playing in Transformers 3. A movie she obviously needs.

horror movies do crappy at BO because alot of them are replica's of previously works not including remakes.

Horror needs another fresh idea like SAW did when it came out many years ago

or something that pushes the boundaries and not horror porn like hostel

This isn't just Cody's failure, it all involved. It's definitely gonna make studios think twice about Fox's appeal, the marketing around this film was more or less on her and her alone.

Fox's only appeal is because she is "hot." I see J-Hex now changing their marketing to focus more on Brolin and action scenes.
