They had reviewed the script at that point I think. I don't remember. But, no... I don't particularly favor aicn. But, they do seem impartial at least.

I can't stand AICN, even though i've spoken to Harry a few times. They only care for the movies that bring them onto the sets and give them exclusives and things of that nature. Theres a really good thread on IMDB that has portions of an article written about Harry and AICN. Heres a link:

It wasn't Harry I spoke to. But, yeah, I know what you mean.
Check out this editorial over at cinemablend, which addresses the "Studio Hand-greasing" in relation to TRANSFORMERS.

I dont like the idea of megs being a plane. I like the idea of him being a tank even though there already is a tank.

Eh... it's not even worth it. Apparently his reputation is pretty well known (going way back to his Tarantino/Natural Born Killers shennanigans). I spoke to one of the reviwers at aintitcool over e-mail shortly thereafter and here's what he said:

"I learned a long time ago not to play in Don's sandbox. He's... got some issues. Between you and me, I wouldn't be looking there for official Transformers updates. My understanding is he's a bit outside the loop."

How is the producer of a movie a bit outside of the loop?????

I doubt Megatron would go from a fast/maneuverable Cybertronian jet to an A-10 Warthog. Especially with Starscream being the cream of America's airforce.

An A-10 would be a cool idea. A big, badass plane full of firepower would be very fitting for Megatron.

Hopefully they have Megatron transform into a Godzilla '98/Gobot hybrid. A "MechaGodzilla" as it were.

He's not the only producer. In fact, he's one of many on this movie... and may have been relegated to a different spot once Production went into full throttle (that spot seems to be Fandom Relations/Spin Control). I doubt Michael Bay would really stand Murphy breathing down his back. He seems to only answer directly to Spielberg.

We have no way of knowing the behind-the-scenes politics going on.

I think it was more like the reverse since Shoot 'Em Up clashed with Transformers if I recall correctly, so he couldn't be on the TF set till later. Plus Paramount's idea of spin control is to say nothing apparently.

Now that it seems that Megatron may get reformated in the film, I think that his Earth alt. mode should be the A-10, since there is already a Decepticon tank, no mass-shifting, and the fact that a canon probaly isn't that practical.

Here's a drawing a poster at the Don Murphy message boards did showing a possible rendition of this concept:

Article on the A-10 from Wikipedia:

Megatron can still become a tank though. In the scheme of Gestalts, I think Bruticus will never be realized so therefore Brawl is unnecessary, therefore Megatron, being the sick pile of diodes it looks like he'll be in this movie, given that something really bad happens to Brawl, he'd probably steal his spark and Alt Mode. You know the old saying, waste not, want not.

True, but the A-10 has huge frickin' cannon on the nose.

The first one is overlaying parts of one of the Megatron designs for the cancelled series Transtech which was going to come right after Beast Machines.

All the megatron *****ing was over a design that was years old? Or are we looking at 2 similar yet separate designs?

If you are referring about the Transtech designs they would have been around 2001-2002 if they didn't cancel the series. So they were more than likely designed around 2000.

^this one looks like MJ from Thriller. After the make-up

that's horrible logic. if you think that way, all the transformers should just come to earth with alien alt modes.

The A-10 really make sense though, it's practically a plane build around a cannon (the GAU-8), i can easily see the cannon on the arm of the robot form..
it's a really fitting machine for Megatron imho.
