Slap me if this thread has already been done, but is anyone getting this?

It comes out on my birthday, which is awesome

The past two games I've definitely enjoyed, they were the highlights of my gaming on the GC.

Maybe his birthday gets constantly pushed back?

Well, just checked other info about the release date...and yeah, TBA. I just came across it on play.com for a release at the end of March.

So, setting my stupidity aside...will anyone be getting it?

Meh. I need a shooter game for the wii, but I've never been a big Prime fan myself. I'm still stuck on mother brain for the first prime game.

I doubt I will. I never got into the first one. I'll just borrow my friend's copy.

I will, for sure. I'm just finishing up Metroid Prime for the first time, and let me tell you, I was an idiot to have ever doubted the quality of this franchise. I was one of those purists who didn't approve of the first-person perspective, and now I can't envision it any other way. It is by far the best game on GameCube I've played, and I'm starting to think it's the best game I've ever played.

...Spidey-Bat and Jaydawg, I really encourage you to give MP another go. It is so, so good.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've played through all of MP and have never encountered Mother Brain. Do you mean Metroid Prime?

I hope that Prime 3 is good, though the inclusion of other bounty hunters and multiple planets makes me nervous! :csad:

Where did you hear this information?

From what I've read of editor play-tests of the E3 demo, MP3 decidedly incorporates more fast-paced, first-person shooter elements. That's what has me worried. I don't know about you, but I love the first-person adventure part about the Metroid Prime series. And although I found the boss fights and combat segments in the games to be thrilling and well-executed, it was the exploration and scanning that gripped me. I wish MP3 still holds true to that.

:whatever: sometimes those elements are'nt enough to make a great game.

metroid prime should'nt just be about exploration. it should have a greater balance of both combat and exploration. the scanning is prety much useless from my expereince it never even helps improve the story nor advance it. a good portion of it was just useless information. i rather have samus explain the story while coming in contact with npc's or artifacts.i dont want to be wasting time scanning walls.

yeah the whole planet thing is a totla wtf for me. how much time would i be spending on each planet? i dont think the gameplay would be enjoyable if you have to all that crap.

Metroid is supposed to be about exploration. If you can't enjoy the games for what they're supposed to be about, then don't play them. This isn't Halo. Metroid is a more mature (as in intelligent, not sex and cursing :whatever:) first person experience.

The scanning is what advanced the story.... honestly, do you really know anything about the stuff you're attacking?

If the scanning loses your interest, again; don't play the game. And if it bores you, you need to grow up. You'll make yourself smarter if you actually do things that engage you mentally.

If that's too much for you, then you probably can't work a dual analog control scheme...

i never said it was halo nor have i even played halo. so please get your head out of your ass. i really would'nt call metroid mature its really conservative in that department. the rest of your post seems to come from your stupidity, since i never said the scanning was bad, just wish it can improved upon. but its a pretty clear that your post did'nt have anything intelligent to say, since its so ill-informed about what i actually posted.

is thats the only remark you have in your back pack timmy? attacking other posters about a gaming element that obviously has others besides myself worried and confused. go cook yourself a nice hot plate of spam and see if you can come back and say something smart and more scathing.

This coming from a guy with the worst sentence structure in history.

And I'm sorry, I didn't know this was a fight. I'm just dogging on the child who's too unsophisticated to appreciate Metroid. And you don't like the scanning. You miss the entire point of it and consider it a "waste of time". That's what it will always be to you.

I've *****slapped you around in the other threads... I don't have to resort to pathetic insults to make you run away.

And if my Dual Analog setup gag went over your head (which I know it did), I'll put it this way: if you think that's too much to be in a game, if it confuses you, then it's a wonder you can work a computer. You're not only a troll, you're a childish idiot as well. And I mean that in the best way possible. Come back when you're older, kiddo.

In other new: the Bears lost the Superbowl.:wow: :hyper:

Personally, if there was someone that is going to get the first person shooting right with the remote, it'll be Nintendo..and I have faith that MP3 will be worth the wait.

Reggie on MP3

On Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - “What I will tell you about ‘Metroid’ is that ‘Metroid’ will be fabulous. I think it’s fair to say that all of us were disappointed with the sales of ‘Metroid Prime 2,’ [the game’s developer] Retro included. The focus on ‘Prime 3′ is to make that the stellar game for a first-person experience on the platform. … What that means is we’re going to make sure it’s perfect when we launch it. I think this is one where your readers — the fans of Nintendo, the core gamer — need to recognize that when we release it, it will be perfect. And if that’s a little later than folks would have liked, I’m hoping they’re going to be happy. They certainly seem to be happy that we took our time with ‘[The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.’ ” With that kind of talk, the obvious follow-up question was: “If it’s perfect, does that mean it’s going to be online?” In response, Fils-Aime said: “That’s perfect for you.”

God, I hope Brawl is online too.

Reggie mentioned that he would love to have Mario Kart online when it comes out so most multiplayer games from Nintendo will use Wi-Fi.

God, I hope Brawl is online too.

Brawl, for sure. It is the multiplayer of choice (next to Mario Kart) where I'm from.

But as for MP:3, I would rather they perfect the single-player first before focusing on a multiplayer component. If there is one, great, but I won't be disappointed if it doesn't have one.

Perhaps the delay is to fine tune single player and develope a great multiplayer. It was supposed to be a launch title. Adding on multiplayer gives them time to go back and strengthen the single player mode.

Saying he wants them to be online is a completely different thing from having it actually online. Its embarrasing that Nintendo is still fumbling around with this. Granted the console has only been around for four months, but still, you cant say they werent checking out Xbox Live.
