Fant4stic Michael B Jordan is "Flame On!" The Human Torch - Part 2

Black suit on an African american actor.

The person who designed these costumes passed away. I wish he was alive to explain his designs and what he was going for

So by your logic Black Panther shouldn't have a black costume either. And Boseman will have that mask off every other second like RDJ and Evans so there's no difference.

Well his suit is actually black in the comics so..

Comic book accuracy had nothing to do with what that poster was talking about. "Oooh he's black in a black suit I can't see him!" Foh

Editing of your post was a smart idea, but from now on, watch the tone of your posts.

Ok, looking at the photo no discussion thread I saw this.

Now ignoring the fact that it still looks like biking body armour I couldn't help noticing the forearm and wrist, it looks like there are three tube things coming down the glove. Please tell me that those aren't something he uses to control his powers. I'm not a fan of the bungie cord on Reed so I hope we won't be seeing Johnny using those tubes on his gloves to fire his flames.

Guarantee it's like a dial that can increase or decrease his fire.

Realism!

The Amazing FlameThrower Man.

I really hate when films like this try to 'explain' these things and apply 'realistic' technology.

What real materials and devices will be able to withstand that heat? Once they start trying to explain things they'll create more questions than they answer and it will be a distraction.

Unstable Molecules = magic material that does whatever we need it to. End of discussion, let's get on with the story. That works. Pipes and vents and hoses and technobabble make things a lot more difficult.

Not that I am a fan of this, I think the idea is they work like a radiator, dissipating heat from his body. It's a really stupid idea. The flames have never effected Johnny, but Trank want's to do the body horror thing, so I bet there's an early seen where Johnny flames on and he's writhing in pain. or some crap like that.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if this were the case.

Maybe it's why Sue's crying here. MBJ was screaming in pain:

I doubt it cause it's a common design elements in gloves. However if they gave it some practical use such as a flame thrower, you'd expect to see similar design cues around the legs. Which we haven't seen

It seems to be more than just a design element, I might think it was a design element if the tubing went along the surface of the gloves but they it definitely looks like they come from the wrist socket and stretch out above the gloves taking a sharp bend down to the backs of the gloves. To me the design looks like it is meant to serve some sort of function rather than just being some piping.

Tubes are a common design elements in gloves? I could be wrong but I don't think Teller or Mara have tubes anywhere on their gloves.

As bad as MBJ's suit is, it at least looks a little better than Teller's.

If they took of some of those tacked-on bits off, called it unstable molecules and gave all members similar suits, I could deal with that. I still wouldn't like it as much as something that looked like Fantastic Four, but it wouldn't be as awful as the current suit situation is.

Granted, I cant exactly see what it looks like all that well. What I do see is something that look like it is mimicking those three prominent bones in the hand.

I don't suppose they are some sort of extendable hooks? I have no idea why he would have those on his suit but thats about the only thing I can think of that might look like that.

Not to worry.....I'm sure they'll slap a dark and gritty post-it note with a 4 on all the costumes for the final shot

Perhaps these early costumes are designed to help them initially control these powers, before they fully understand them.

To be fair i wouldn't mind that... as long as it's only initially where they are still raw and struggling to control them.

Kind of like Havok in First Class. He was afraid to use his powers because he couldn't control them. Then Charles and Hank designed the chest plate for him. In the end and in DoFP he doesn't need the chest plate to channel his powers anymore.

I'm not a big fan of the whole realistic angle, especially when it comes to the F4. But i think if done right, it could be interesting and a neat way to see them learn and progress with their powers. And it's still not realistic in the strictest sense. They still have unbelievable powers from an another dimension or whatever. But a little help whilst getting used to them and understanding how they work isn't a bad thing.

And these vents on Johnny and the bungee cord on Reed are clearly rudimentary stop gaps. They aren't going to be permanent. I imagine Reed has the bungee cord type things to help his limbs snap back to normal.

I think the tubes are just meant to regulate the heat evenly around his body.

His body temperature is higher even when he's not flamed on.

Paying attention to details that didn't need paying attention to.

And doing it in a really drab, depressing, visually unpleasant way.

Realism!
