Fant4stic Michael B Jordan is "Flame On!" The Human Torch - Part 2

I've said it before, I'll say it again: there is nothing wrong with casting Michael B Jordan as Johnny Storm. Hell, going by the trailers, he's the most true-to-character performance of the lot of them.

There is everything wrong with doing so, and then casting Kate Mara as his "sister". Say whatever you want about adoption, but don't delude yourself for a second into thinking that Fox was motivated by anything but "We want a lily white blond love interest for the hero".

I would hardly call them errors. Besides how can you criticize MCU continuity and then go and defend Fox's "continuity"?

I wasn't shocked that they had a racially flexible casting policy regarding the 4, but I was extremely surprised that Johnny was chosen because of the complications that would arise regarding his sibling. I know Trank and Jordan are (were?) buds, but he needed to cast a much older Reed and Ben to have Jordan in the role.

If Trank signed Denzel for Reed or brought in Terry Crews (who campaigned for the role) as Ben, the mild outrage directed toward the cast would have been averted.

Honestly, as far as casting goes - it's Bell and Teller that really bug me. They are completely miscast IMO. Mara is just meh to me. Jordan is probably the best cast of the bunch. Unfortunately, I don't believe his acting ability is enough to save the film.

Another thing that ticked me off when MBJ was cast is that people thought that it was impossible thing for a black person and a white person to be adopted siblings like we are still living in the 1930's or something. One of my friends is black and his sister is white (adopted) and they interact like another other siblings. The comments of Facebook and Youtube regarding this movie sometimes make me lose faith in humanity.

I'd say if we don't get a character poster of a flamed up Human Torch for a Fantastic Four movie, the marketing department is a complete failure. That should happen closer to release.

It would probably be just some alternate posters for foreign markets... so I am doubtful for more character posters... maybe Doom will get one. But the final theaterical poster is always released early like before the 2nd trailer is released.

Yeah, we probably already have the character posters....doubtful of another trailer as well....the best hope is for tv character spots.

I am positive that we will get another trailer since the first one was released six months before the release date. Unlike Fox films that had a trailer release 4 months before its release....ex: Poltergeist, Spy, Paper Town.

Days of Future Past and Kingsman also got a third trailer, so I am sure this will get a third trailer.

They could release something at Comic-con.

I'm interested to see just how big they go there.

WB is going to own Comic-Con this year so I don't expect much. There is no Star Wars, no Marvel presence and they are about to drop the most anticipated comic film in decades.

Umm what? Bvs already presented there last year so I dont know if they could replicate that buzz they had last year at Comic Con unless the main cast for JL will be there (Aquaman, Flash and the main villain).

I think WB is going to drop the 2nd trailer for BVS, and the teaser for Suicide Squad. A second trailer for BvS has you winning comic con.

The buzz for months is that WB's DCU panel is going all out. They'll also likely showcase more than 3-4 DC films. There's a reason we're starting to hear some stuff on WW and Flash. Don't get your hopes up on Fox dominating the con this year.
