some guys here were talking about depth and development.
**** that. there are directors for this kind of thing.
Bay is a director for action, and he is good at what he does. just keep this in mind.
Well, I love action movies, and I still loathe Bay. And just because its an action movie doesn't mean there can't be depth and development. Saying those elements aren't necessary is just justifying Bay's consistency with making all his movies incredibly dumb.
I don't think he's good at action anyway. All his movies have the same ADD-riddled editing and slo mo style shots. He shows us 300 angles of one explosion, and we always get some "cool" shot of a poorly developed character walking in slow motion with something like a chopper or an explosion in the background. Bay can't write his characters as being a certain way, he has to visually beat you over the head with it because he knows NOTHING of subtlety and character development.
