Michael Bay wheres the respect?

i'm gonna side with cryptic as far as the themes from predator and aliens are concerned. the predator from part 1 was not just a big ugly monster. he DID have honor because he didn't use his weapons once he came to Duth face to face. the Predator's hunt for the GAME...it's a GAME to them. the Predator killed everyone he could but Dutch was able to survive all of his attacks until he was unarmed (the Predator could've easily killed Dutch while he was lying on the log). he then got rid of his major weapon because Dutch had no weapon.

as far as the aliens...the relationship between the queen and her babies is very much like a hive. the queen just sits there and reproduces so that the workers and fighters do all the work to protect the hive.

Bull**** cryptic. First of all the honorable warrior predator doesent arrive until the second film. In the first he is just an ugly alien that kills people. What myth does it translate. I didnt see any fine line between human and predator. And is it really honorable to blow everyone up because you lost a fight, even after your opponent granted you mercy.

Aliens- Motherhood? The queen seemed more like a master than a mother to me. If she really loved her children than why make them fight and get killed in the first place? How were the marines imperialistic? Because there american? And the aliens were not savages, they used tactics and stategies to attack the marines. They didnt just swipe there claws at them.

Bad Boys was about the perception and values of black men in america. Marcus is a family man, while Mike is a womanizer. They have to protect a white woman, who under different circumstances may have feared them. It shows that not all black men are pimps and womanizers, and that they are capable of having loving family relationships.

This just proves that you are nothing more than a Zombie.. How is one person able to be such a blind bastard? Get a dog and some sunglasses..

Oh wow. Funniest, most pathetic post I have ever read. I am seriously thinking of putting you on ignore because your mindless ramblings do nothing but waste my time and threaten to lower my IQ to your single digit levels. Your laughable assessment of Bad Boys as some black message movie makes me laugh so uncontrollably, I think I need medical attention. I've come across other of your posts and they all seem to have a common theme of extreme ignorance and lack of any intelligence. I think you've just made yourself the forum jester. Good job!

Bad Boys was a lame action movie. Nothing more.

Bad Boys was basically a starring vehicle for Martin and Will, who were both extremely popular at that time.

OH no! Please snake dont put me on ignore, how will I ever go on.:whatever: Why are you guys getting so angry? At the end of the day, these are all movies. I see bad boys as a positive message about race relations. If you dont, thats ok. You guys seem to be taking this way to seriously. I enjoy michael bays films and, judging by the fact that he keeps getting funding for new projects im not the only one.

watching this video i realized that he really likes slow motion

I liked the Island but Michael Bay for the most part is just a commercial ****e when it comes to his films

As far the race relations thing with Bad Boys, that's quite a stretch. I think even Bay would be like "wtf?" if you told him that.

And as far as funding, so does Uwe Boll.

I do think Transformers will bomb on an epic scale, and if it does, it will cast a nice little light on Bay and studios will see that his films are declining in popularity, and it'll be much harder for him to get work. Similiar to what is happening to Shyamalan.

Come on do you really think transformes will bomb? You guys may see deep messages about humanity and world peace in these cartoons, but the general audience see's this movie for what it is. A movie about a show that was based on TOYS about giant robots that blow each other up. God created michael bay to make this film. The only way this movie would have bombed is if someone actually listened to the fan boys ideas. Why does every movie have to be some kind of social commentary with you guys? Is it so hard to sit back and watch a cinematic action movie maestro like Mr. Bay perform his greatest action symphony yet?

I think Michael Bay is fantastic at making fun, action-adventure films. And there's nothing wrong with those. They're great!

Sure, you won't learn the secrets of life from his movies...but who goes to a movie to LEARN? I go for entertainment and he doesn't fail.

Much preferred over some films that preach to you through out the movie. (V, i'm looking at you!)

Yeah, stupid fanboys and their desire to see the robots in their true to source appearance! We don't want that! I want to look at Megatron and it take me 3 days to figure out where his face is. Silly purists need to get with the modern hip times and realize this will join the many other successful 80s adaptations, like Bewitched, Dukes of Hazzard, etc.

you have such a backward grasp on reality that i seriously can't tell if you're being serious or just f**king with everyone.

it's cool that you don't dig transformers and will gladly eat up any horse s**t that bay feeds you, but to insult fans of the source material for wanting to see a good movie is just ridiculous and petty.

and finally, no, Robert Zemeckis was meant to make Transformers.

Thats my point cryptic, their is no source material for transformers. The show was created by a toy company, to sell their products. Zemeckis is washed up and doesent have the skill to make a transformers film. You guys dont seem to understand the fact that outside of this community the idea of talking fighting robots is stupid. This movie needs someone like bay to bridge the gap between fanboys and the GA. Without that bridge movies like King Kong and Serenity happen.

The only thing I do agree with is that Transformers were created to sell toys. Some guys at Hasbro created a mythos for them because they needed to expand on it for the toyline. I appreciate that they did it, but I don't forget why it was done, either. They have become pop culture icons and have a canon that spans centuries and future times, so I will confess it deserves an amount of respect coming to live action.

A PRE-EXISTING CARTOON AND COMIC BOOK SERIES IS SOURCE MATERIAL

the fact that the show was originally created to sell toys does not invalidate it, and Zemeckis is not washed up. the general public isn't that fond of bay either, as his last few movies have bombed in the u.s.

People didn't need to watch Firefly to watch Serenity, if that's what you meant.

Let me say this I like Bay however, you don't really need to see any of his films besides Bad Boys 2, it's like all the good stuff you like about his films rolled into one awesome high octane action movie...

The Rock and Armageddon are my favorite Michael Bay films. It seems those were the only films that had any kind of real substance to them.

When I heard he was directing Transformers, my mind and heart was hoping that he would use the animated "Transformers: The Movie" as a blueprint for the story and concept of the Transformers.

I was quite sad to see the pictures, to read the leaked script, and find out that he wanted to tell the story from the human perspective rather than concentrating on the robots themselves. I'll still see it on opening night, but my expectations are very low though.

^Same here with the Transformers.
I just saw Megatron leaked pictures and all I can say is damn. :down

As for Bay's other movies, the good ones are:

- Armageddon
- Bad Boys
- Bad Boys II

No source material??? Just because it was created by a toy company, you say that?? Sorry, but you need to educate yourself on the meaning of "source material".

You may think Zemeckis is "washed up", but he's about 100 times the filmmaker Bay is right NOW.

What you don't seem to understand -- among many other things -- is that anything can be treated respectfully and accurately, at the same time. I cite Jaws as an example; its a bubblegum plot. Shark attacks people. Wow. Yet Spielberg took it and made it into one of the greatest movies of all time.

What you also don't understand is that people are familiar with Transformers. You act like its some pop-niche that no one has heard of, like they will not have expectations going into the movie because they don't know what its about. Fighting, talking robots. Yeah, but just because those few words sound ridiculous together doesn't mean an intelligent movie can't be made about it!

Unfortunately, Bay is not known for intelligent filmmaking. He's an over-the-top glorified MTV video director with the subtlety of a large sledgehammer. He doesn't tell stories, he blows them up and throws them at you.

Cryptic if you are going to insult lord bay dont talk out of your ass. His last few films have not bombed. The Island was a dissapointment but it did not bomb. Steven Speilberg has made some of the greatest pictures of all time, and if he vouches for bay than that means alot more to me than someone on a message board named cryptic. Transformers will be a triumph and michael bay will be making quick cutting, orange tinted films for years to come. Amen
Snake that applies to you to. I dont know why you guys are even arguing about this. You will all be there opening day, so shut up and pay up.

that's it, you have to to be f**king with everyone.

The best Michael Bay film isn't even made by Michael Bay. It's by Simon West and it's Con Air.
