Watched X-Men Days of Future Past this evening and when Magneto turns the cameras on himself to give his speech to the public I for some reason had Caesars speech from Conquest of the planet of the apes in my head and was expecting that to come out of his mouth.

Here's Caesars speech. Something I could imagine Magneto saying too

Where there is fire, there is smoke. And in that smoke, from this day forward, my people will crouch, and conspire, and plot, and plan for the inevitable day of man's downfall, the day when he finally and self-destructively turns his weapons against his own kind. I like to think continuity wise Magneto being in prison slimmed down a great deal and thus became Ian's size and face. But by being free he was able to keep his bulk and stay a brawler. DOFP Magneto will not learn the patience of being in a cell for decades.

I think it's more the helmet color and shape that looks a little like the OT helmet

Great interview with Michael. Apparently Erik's wife is Magda Maximoff from the comics.

It was good of Fassbender to push for that aspect of Magneto's comic history to be introduced!
