Microsoft admits to flaw in 360

the only time Ive ever had to re-buy a system was with the original PS1. I got so pissed when it failed on me

Wii's catching up fast and still very hard to find now, that wasn't the case with 360. Maybe Nintendo knows what it's doing?

Yeah, because gamers want to play pointless, childish, idiotic mini games such as wario ware smooth moves and wii sports.
Zelda’s the only good slash real game that Nintendo has vomited forth.

Wait, my 360 usually does the red lights and the "Call System Support" screen. But after a few Ons/Offs it works fine. Is my 360 in possible danger?

Here’s the real question, how come this **** never happened to sixth gen consoles?

Well, the 360 was scarce until late Apr early May. I think, even if the Wii does eclipse the 360 in sales, that wont tell you much(i mean that system is a great deal at 250). I still think the 360 will sell more games than the Wii could ever dream of. Plus, the 360 still has that little tiny small game known as Halo 3, which coud possibly be THE single largest selling game of all time.

Interesting...

If it can outsell Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario Bros., the two best selling games of all time, then I won't ever say a negative thing about 360. It'll sell well, but I don't think it'll even outsell Nintendogs, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Brain Age, or New Super Mario Bros. Stranger things have happened, though.

Super Mario Bros.: 40.23 million units
Super Mario Bros. 3: 18 million units

Halo 2: 8 million units

In case you were wondering.

You’re right, Halo won’t sell more to the people that buy those kinds of games. But the people who play Nintendogs are usually little kids. The main demographic for gamers are teens and early adult males.

Apparently not, if "those kinds of games" are the ones that are selling more. But I think you're wrong, Nintendogs is being bought by everyone, not just "little kids."

...And have you ever played Halo 2 online, ever? THAT's a kid fest.

EDIT: I just realized that what you said is counter-intuitive. If the "main demographic for gamers are teens and early adult males," isn't that demographic also responsible for the success of Nintendogs?

Nintendogs is a hand held game, handhelds appeal more to children (except for the PSP).

The PS1 definetly had its share of problems. I remember having to put that thing on its side for it to play

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

I don't really get all the buzz about the 360 being flawed. I've had mine since launch with absolutely no problems whatsoever. The only time I've ever gotten the red circle on my 360 is when the powercord was halfway unplugged.

I've had my 360 for about 2 months now, and it's constantly saying "Disc is dirty or damaged". And it seems to happen the most on Rainbow Six and Gears. And I bought both games brand new, and handle them extremely carefully. It gets really annoying when you put the disc and it says reading, then immediately goes to "open tray". I really don't want to buy a new one.

I have a friend who is on his 3rd 360, his first one was a launch, he had it for about 8 months, then it crashed. So he got another one, and the same thing happened with that.

Um, is that a fair assesment? How long have those games been out? If nothing else, Halo 3 will be the fastest selling game of all time.

You also mention alot of handheld games/systems. This so called next gen war wont be won on the handheld front.

Well, if it does go down, dont worry, MS will send you another one. Or if you had a warranty from the store you bought it from theyll get u a new one.

I wonder how many of these 360 failures are because people do stupid **** to their 360, like keeping it in a small enclosed space, or moving it when the disc is playing?

True story, not ****ing around:

My best friend bought his Elite yesterday. I just got off the phone with him a few moments ago, and he got the red lights. He's packing it up to return it to Best Buy. This marks his third Xbox 360. People, this is beyond stupid. My old 360 crashed.

I'm not ****in around.

You know what will happen with your friend? He’ll get a new elite from Best Buy, while the Wii owners will be stuck with consoles that work yet have little more than childish mini-games such as Warioware. When someone buys a Wii they’re really paying for an overpriced DS. You know what’s the worse thing about that? You can return a console for having poor games?

Thats great and all, but thats only 2 people. I have well over 10 friends with 360s and none of us have ever had problems.

Wow... just turned on my 360 today... Red Ring of Death...

Thank God I got it at Costco so I can return it and get an Elite. :)
