Microsoft E3 2009

I cant believe there's no buzz about the natal project. All you guys can talk about is metal gear solid, if most of you aren't surprised or excited about it why are still going on about it.

Did you guys not see the sheer awsome-ness of the natal project ?

C'mon virtual gaming, no controller, motion sensors, voice and face recognition, scanners that can place real world items literally in the game you can't say that's not someting to buzz about.
If you haven't seen it you have got to see it, to for the most part believe it exist.

I guess one thing that MS did at this conference that I hope Nintendo and Sony follow suit in is the lack of graphs and stats. Usually the first 20-30 minutes of these conferences are all stats and a big who gives a ****. MS went straight into it without all that crap. I enjoyed that

Honestly, I don't think it's all that awesome to be frank

Go back a few pages or search Skynet, we talked about it for pages.

It's not even like they showed much for it anyway. They had some Wii-ish stuff with people jumping, stomping and flopping. The only other thing was that Milo thing, and honestly, talking to non-existent people isn't too amazing to me

I really don't care about it. It looked exactly what I thought it would look like; A toy.

Oh, yeah...I can't wait to use my 360 to try on a dress and play a pedo simulator as someone else called it. The promotional video they showed looked exactly like the videos Nintendo used to show of people playing Wii. Remember the Red Steel commercial with guy aiming his "gun" and swinging his "sword" and hiding behind his couch and ****? Playing Red Steel was absolutely nothing like that. Obviously this is different, but I would be willing to bet it won't be as seamless as they say. The tech didn't even work that well on stage. Granted it's early, but even if it works exactly like they envision it, it's just not something I can get into.

I think it was pretty cool actually, but I need to see some more.

Nintendo was ridiculous with the graphs last year but I expect them to be back. Its not like they've had much going for them and hopefully they do this time, but I doubt it. The graphs will be there for filler

Yeah, I figure it will, too. It sucks to because it's so damn boring. Sony spiced it up last year with their LBP presentation, but I doubt they'll have anything like that this year

Like I said, no one will top Microsoft this year.

Dont think you can count the others out yet. we had no idea this was comming for microsoft so sony and nintendo may have somthing even better.

Doubt it. Microsoft said they have even better stuff to announce throughout the week. And REACH!? NICE!

Yea, im with Teardrop on this, that was Microsofts ace, they have nothing left other than maybe a few arcade titles and some demos of games they have talked about. They wont be announcing anything major from here on out.

I'm hoping for some real decent Xbox Live Arcade games like the one Epic showed. We need more of that. Plus more ports.

Natal seems cool but, like the Wii motion controls, I doubt it'll work as well as that preview makes it seem to.

Turtles in Time and Gunstar Heroes are being ported soon. That's about all I need for the time being. Maybe a good 3D shooter like the PSN's Super Stardust. Geometry Wars can't compete with that.

I think Nintendo will still be the place ppl go for motion controls. It's just too engraved in the minds of main stream, I don't think MS or Sony will take the motion control crown.

As for Natal itself, personally it didn't intrigue me, but I imagine it'll do ok. It's just that things like that, especially when the system wasn't built around it, tend to be fads. Just look at the PS Eye. Even at $30 I still didn't pick it up, tho I was tempted for a little bit. It had a lot of interactivity, it had a little pet that interacted with what you drew on paper, if you drew a car he'd pick it up and drive it or something like that. It just never took off. I think Natal will be the same, it'll hit the nerve of a niche audience, but it won't go over with most 360 players.

Not counting it requires you to do exercise to play, which is always a bad thing to gamers. Next they'll expect us to play our consoles....outside...in the sun...

I'm just reminded of Punch Out. You know yeah you can do motion controls but most people just get tired and just use the controller.

I saw a Natal preview last night, but apparently I missed Milo. I'm watching it now and holy f***ing hell, I am terrified. That was so creepy.

They did that already with that DS game.

Natal? Looks cool but not something I'd really be interested in. My controller's just fine and most of the Natal features seems like fun but ultimately unnecessary novelty fare. Most of all, I was just struck by how hardcore Microsoft seems to be gunning for Nintendo with it. Seriously, Natal is effectively Microsoft saying "F*** YOU" in big, bold letters to Nintendo.

I meant the Milo thing, seems everyone else was flipping about it earlier

Milo could be cool if it was expanded. Lets use Fable. You make your character and interact with it in a cool way. Like "Glorf, lets investigate this area over here" and the character walks over there and finds Zelda or whatever. You know?
