I love the new dashboard, and the avatars.

As long as i can create a bald guy with a slick black suit and red tie, ill like the avatars too.

I like the new dashboard as well. It's a lot cleaner looking and less cluttered. Of course this version didn't have any advertisements yet...

The avatars...I know a lot of hardcore gamers such as myself moan and groan about that sort of thing, but dammit, I have a soft spot for being able to customize a character! So yeah, I like the avis too.

Hilary over at IGN made a good observation... where will themes be used in the new dashboard? I'm assuming in the gray background but I don't know. I don't use themes, but plenty of people spent money on them.

I'm guessing whenever you move up or down it will change. Same deal as moving left and right.

The themes might actually be better in that gray background then it is now. I don't use them because a lot of them make it hard to read the dashboard.

I was thinking the same thing.

It's kind of a catch 22 with the current dashboard. The dashboard itself is too cluttered to enjoy the theme, and a lot of the themes are too busy to read the dashboard.

I'm fine with the new look. I probably won't use a lot of the features, as long as I can find the xbla and demos easily I'll be good. And I am a little excited for Avatars. I'm a sucker for customized characters, and these are miles ahead of Miis in terms of customizing.

It's a lot more radical a change then I thought it'd be.

More detail on the NXE. I've grown to like it and look forward to the update. kotaku says that both gamerpics and themes will be usable in the new setup.

I had to catch some of the highlights on Dashboard, so I've missed the goods. The new experience looks pretty cool. The "community" might be fun. You mean I can finally talk to more than person at a time??! Sweet. Avatars look cool too, fully customizable would be GREAT.

What day do they plan on releasing M:UA2 footage??

The avatars are neat, but a blatant rip off of the Mii's. I think Nintendo will have Microsoft AND Sony think like them before all is said and done.

Microsoft looks to have an impressive fall line up and it's what made me decide to once again pick up a 360. I think Sony has to flat out show us some AMAZING games today and they HAVE to have some ground breaking announcements.

BTW: Morgan Webb REALLY gets on my nerves.

They were talking about being able to rip games from the CD onto your hard drive. If this is true that's pretty cool.

You'll still be able to use the gamerpics and the themes you've downloaded. They haven't shown us how, but they've said you can.

So throw out your system if it bothers you so much.

It's already known that gamer pics and themes will still be usable. The dashboard now is cluttered and change is a good thing. The majority of the xbox community love the change..

They were talking about being able to rip games from the CD onto your hard drive. If this is true that's pretty cool.

You can rip the games from the dvd's and put them on your HD, but in order to play the game you must have the disc in the disc tray. It just won't spin the disc and make all that noise.

It looks pretty cool. I hope you cna get themes again, because that plain white will get annoying. I like my Indy & TDK themes.

BTW, Lego Batman in the tray made me jealous.
