Microsoft E3 2013 Press Conference Thread

I wasn't expecting a price announcement. So, I wonder if Microsoft stepping forward first with the price will cause Sony to do the same today.

And I wonder, if Sony is willing to go for $399. Even at a loss, if they can just get out ahead of Microsoft early on, it may be worth taking the early hit to try and get out infront of Microsoft.

I am ****ing amazed that they didn't even talk about used games at all. Not even a little.

The hardware in Sony's machine is a bit higher grade, but Kinect is probably what drove the X1's price through the roof. My guess has been $399 this whole time for PS4.

However I don't think MS would purposefully price themselves $100 more expensive than the PS4. I'm starting to get a sinking feeling that the PS4 will be $450, or $500 as well. I'm hoping I'm wrong, and it is $399.

Dead Rising 3 looks great. The first one was one of my favorite games for the 360.

Titanfall while impressive, I think will be overshadowed by Destiny.

All Sony needs to do is come out with no DRM bs and a lower price point and they've won.

Yeah, I could see Sony going for the $499 price. But, I just wonder if the temptation is as obvious to them as it seems to me to try and shoot for $399 to entice people even more.

I imagine we're going to get a price announced now from them, right? If the system is going to be $399...then now is when they need to announce it.

I was really hoping to be more wowed by it than I was, highlights for me definitley Metal Gear, and Titanfall.

Yeah, I could see Sony going for the $499 price. But, I just wonder if the temptation is as obvious to them as it seems to me to try and shoot for $399 to entice people even more.

I think they're going to announce a price and release date today as well. I mean, they've practically been hiding the console for months, it'd be ridiculous not to take this chance to show it off.

I would give this press conference a D+. I give them some credit for focusing so much on games, but they didn't address any of the controversy, . :/

They'll have more than likely won the 1st year or 2, sure. But like Sony lost the 1st year or 2 of the PS3, it doesn't mean unsuccesful policies can't be later changed like Sony themselves changed. This gen will probably go on for at least another 8 years or so these are just opening shots.

They'd obviously get a much stronger early install base than at $500 but they would also be throwing away a chunk of money. There are probably a few million people around the world quite willing to drop $500 on the PS4 right now. And that is all clean profit. Every company would price their devices cheaper than the competition & erode away their own margins if it was a straightforward choice.

My prediction for both consoles was $399 & $499 for 2 models. Looks like Microsoft are launching with just one version & I'm sure Sony will launch somewhere between those prices (inclusive). Anything $399 & below would be an amazing bargain for all that functionality.

Oh yeah definitely. Before today MS were so far behind to hardcore gamers it was quite unbelievable relative to any other console war at this stage. If Sony fully go with zero DRM they'll be in a great position.

At least the games looked good especially the revival of Killer Instinct, Sunset Overdrive, and Ryse. But this conference was really dragged down by the price point and Microsoft completely ignoring people's complaints about the system.

I think them falling behind early this generation is why they could be willing to take the hit early on.

If they're willing to do so, and then after getting their base, create different tiers of hardware...and getting out a $599 beast mode system to try and recoup, I dunno...maybe the early beating they took this generation would drive them to do so.

If it's the same price, then I wouldn't expect them to announce it. Perhaps to leave Microsoft to take some licks for it until the time Sony announces the price. If it's lower, then they need to announce today.

I'm assuming if they have no drm plans, they'll specifically state that, if they do however, then yea we won't hear it at the show. I think we'll know their plans based on what they don't say. I mean if I were Sony I'd go out of my way to show how much more open and less invasive my system is compared to One, if indeed it is more open and less invasive

hmm the only game I seem Excited about is Titanfall mostly cause it reminded me of when I got in Gundum wing and Seed series as shows and the pilot's would actually leave their mech's and fight them selves on occasion. That seem's to be the only game that grabbed me, I think I 'll look over some other stuff there must some thin else. . So far that was the one on XB1. Not much else.


As for the price. 5.99$ hahha they are screwed. well ok if it was 600 $ then they would be screwed.
