Midnight Mass - Mike Flanagan Sets Next Netflix Series

Its a bland trailer, but I'm going to watch it regardless.

Bland? How so?

Its a bunch of bland location shots, and closeups with no context, story, or even indication of genre. Theres no hook. And the only interesting shot is the dead girl with electricity coursing through her body, but that's blink and you'll miss it.

It's a minute teaser. I think the shots are all well composed and lit. Music is good. The conversation is interesting. The repeating "Why?" The final shot.

Not bland in my opinion, just a tease, but apparently it didn't intrigue you like it did me. And maybe if this wasn't Flanagan I wouldn't be as interested.

Looks intriguing; has a Stephen King feel to it IMO. Also good to see Matt Saracen under center again!

Was hoping Mike would try for more intense horror this time.

This cast makes it feel a little bit like this is a spiritual successor to the two Haunting seasons.

There's nothing to say that it isn't.
Netflix classifying it as "Understated" says a bit. Understated doesn't sound like intense horror. Sounds like a slow burn and more like Hill House.

Something can be understated and still intense. And I definitely wouldn't take Netflix tags as gospel.

Very interesting poster. Definitely a throwback but compositionally it is so different from the typical ensemble heads posters, ha.

This makes me think Flannigan would make a great Alan Wake mini series.

Was not expecting that much Keane, but I approve.

So a devil posing as a priest shows up in town, starts performing miracles, creates a cult, stirs up a religious pogrom, and the town destroy itself. Where's Sam and Dean Winchester when you need them?

Can't wait! This definitely looks a lot more intense than Hill House/Bly Manor. Those were amazing, but I like seeing Flannagan take things in a crazier, King-esque direction.

Is Flanagan directing the whole thing?
