The first batch of DLC. It's all time trial levels, and they look pretty cool.

The DLC looks cool. I like that they went with a more abstract take for the new maps.

The video was typical overproduced junk. Lisa Miskovsky is very pretty--but, taken out of the context of Faith's job as a Runner, a lone woman standing on the ledge of a skyscraper's roof with no one else around could be construed in some unpleasant ways... Still, I really like the song. More than I should, probably. Really good piano riff.

gamevideos.com isn't working right now, but they have a video of the DLC.

I saw it earlier. The new maps are pretty trippy. I want to try Velocity out to see if it lives up to its name.

So... nobody got the full version? I beat it yesterday. I liked it overall, although basically anything involving combat drove me bats*** insane. I swear, I played through that parking garage in the ship level like 20 times, changed the difficulty to easy, and then played it about a dozen more times before I finally got through it. The extremely unforgiving collision detector for grabbing onto stuff was pretty annoying as well. But the actual motion, running and vaulting across rooftops, was pretty amazing. Truly a unique and innovative use of the first-person perspective in games. I hope we see a sequel or, at the very least, more of this type of game that doesn't feel the need to automatically shift to third-person perspective.
I agree. I loved this game, but when you had to fight anymore than 2 cops, it gets freaking painful.

Yeah, wasn't it fun replaying the same bit about 30 times whenever a handful of cops were around?

I loved the running levels, the first few, but
Toward the end, with all those cops, jeez, I was about to give up. The level with the Ninja cops pissed me off, and the one with the Servers!:cmad: I was just glad it was over. I took a break to play through Portal cause it pissed me off so much.

Other than that, I loved the game.

Awesome, I loved Mirror's Edge, but I hope they either refine the combat or, well, take it out all together to be honest

Ditto. Maybe if they gave you some new moves to quickly dodge light gunfire or something. It was just completely implausible to take on the amount of goons they sicced on you with what you had in the first game, though. Especially if you're like me and you tried to use guns as little as possible.

I didn't use a single gun the whole game until the end when you had to destroy those computers to open the last door. :)

I used a few in the ship because I was dying every five bloody seconds, but other than that and the end, I was weapon-free.

It's been so long, I don't remember the ship. It was such a good game, just with glaring flaws, I'm glad it's getting a sequel

I agree. There was definite potential there, they just put too much of an emphasis on combat without fully working out the combat system's kinks. Also, it was a bit short. And the story kind of sucked because of all its wasted potential.

I definitely agree about the length, I had heard it was super short and I remember thinking it would take longer if I never used a weapon. Well, it wasn't.

One thing I hope they do, is make a may that you can get out of all firefights without actually fighting. Like in the first or second level there was a place you could jump a fence to get to an elevator instead of fighting/shooting the people in front of them. I was hoping there would be more instances like that in the game, but it was a rarity

Well, that's good to know then. Though, I'm not sure how well a traditional multiplayer mode would have worked in that game. Good to see they may be remedying the length factor

I don't know how you'd do multiplayer in Mirror's Edge either. A race, maybe? Or some people play as those parkour cops while some play as the runners?

I think both of those ideas could work pretty well. I'm not much for races like that, but the whole cop/runner thing sounds like it could be pretty fun if done right

People got some ridiculous times on those timed runs you could play. Seriously, if I raced against some of them, I would probably just stop racing and stare. Must be like poetry in motion to get some of the times I saw.

Some games (most actually, in my opinion) just don't need multiplayer. Mirror's Edge is one of those.

I agree, it doesn't need it, but I think that runners vs runner cops could be pretty fun if done right.

However, you have a Alien avatar and signature, so you win

I don't think multiplayer's a necessity either, but it does increase the replay value of a game and a lot of people felt gypped with Mirror's Edge due to how short it was. If MP can help Mirror's Edge 2 sell better, why not include it?
