I thought so too when I first saw it. But hoo boy it has NOT aged well.

For those who have Epix, Mission Impossible Fallout premieres tomorrow evening.
For me, it's 7:30.

As someone who isn't even all that rabid-salivating over TDK as some kind of masterpiece, and finds the constant using of it as a blueprint by fanboys a little annoying, I'd still say the Fallout sequence is one of the times it's a legitimate comparison.

Score, photography, general mood, the actual staging of the action piece, it's pretty uncanny.

Having never read this thread as I didn’t want to be spoiled on this as for some mad reason it took me ages to watch this, I was thinking about The Dark Knight throughout watching Fallout. I think all of the comparisons were intentional personally.

I wished the bike chase and running sequence were in Imax format. I think it would have enhanced the experience like the helicopter sequence.

Like the "Dark Knight" the constant switching between wide screen and full screen was annoying

Ethan in helicopter scene jumps to wide screen when they cut away.
