Ok, I didn't realize that's what I was describing, but that is indeed exactly what I was describing and now that you've put it that way, I suddenly really want to see it happen, lol.

These past two movies have also reminded me just how comic Batman like Hunt is too. I mean they have really made him this almost God like figure who can do anything and know how to **** you up in more ways than one. Baldwin even described Hunt as the manifestation of destiny (loved that whole line by the way). But he's still vulnerable and you worry about him.

So if they can make that work for Hunt, there's no reason why they can't do the same for Batman on film one day.

-You can see Lane in a listening booth in the vinyl record store in London when Hunt first arrives there. Hunt's guard was down because he didn't see Lane as a threat.

Yeah I noticed that as well upon the second viewing as well. it's baileys for [blackout]Lane[/blackout]. And from there we see the start of the Cat & Mouse game between him and Ethan.

Paramount Pictures vice chairman Rob Moore is ready for more Ethan Hunt, strongly endorsing Tom Cruise’s recent announcement that “Mission: Impossible 6″ is in the works.

“We’re very happy to be developing this movie with Tom,” Moore told Variety. “There’s no question that Ethan Hunt deserves another film.”


It was the first public comment by Paramount execs — who tend to take a measured approach in discussing future films. Even as “Rogue Nation” opened on Friday, the studio was insisting that its tracking showed a $40 million opening, even though the final figure turned out to be 40% higher.

Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Rentrak, said he’s not surprised that another “Mission: Impossible” is in the works.

“I think it’s very smart,” he added. “Given the performance of ‘Rogue Nation,’ there has to be another movie.”

Cruise revealed plans on Tuesday to return in the Ethan Hunt role for a sixth “Mission: Impossible,” asserting that shooting could start as early as a year from now.

“We’re starting to work on it now. We’ll probably start shooting it next summer,” he told host Jon Stewart on “The Daily Show.”

I like the idea of Ilsa leading the team after Ethan retires. That would be f***ing perfect. She's as badass as he is, and I think audiences will come back for a Cruise-less M:I movie because the response to her character has been 100% positive.

Yeah, if Tom ever does hang it up for good (or one of his crazy stunts finally kills him, which is probably more likely), then Illsa taking over makes a lot more sense than Brandt imo.

Just my opinion, but I think the whole franchise would need a reboot if Cruise left. It would be weird to follow the same continuity. This has been the Tom Cruise Machine since the first film. And he's there doing stuff that no one else in Hollywood really does. There's something about a "Tom Cruise Action Film" that you don't really get often. So, just making another sequel with Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Ferguson would be blatantly inferior.

It's really Cruise or bust here. He's only 52. Let him keep going for the next 20 years. Harrison Ford has zero problem.

I agree. This franchise has great supporting actors but Cruise is the centerpiece. I'm sure the day will come but, IMO without him it simply wouldn't feel the same.
