Mister J - Old or Young?

How do you prefer the Joker; age-wise?

  • Relatively old (45-50yrs old)

  • Relatively young (20-30yrs old)

Its odd because I don't think this Joker is going to be that energetic and wild, whereas Nicholson was and that didnt go with his rotund body so well. Ledger's young but he's got a deep voice and beady eyes that can be put to great use in quieter moments. We need some kind of non-cheesy monologue from him with a voice like that. And his mood should go up and down like a rollercoaster

Plus he's not going to look stupid moving across a zipwire, it sounds fairly physical, but not goofy

Ledger is 27 I think, so he we have a young Joker.
Well 28 actually, but he still falls within the 'young J' bracket. Personally I've always though of Joker as 35-40, but if I had to choose a between a young Joker or an old one I'd choose young.

Ledger is the perfect age for TDK since it´s the start of Batman and Joker so young

I didn't know he was 28, I picked the number top of my head.

I prefer young Joker as well, a match for Batman to fight with too.

I think Heath looks older than his age, so really he looks about the perfect age to be The Joker IMO.

I always thought Batman and The Joker were about the same age, with Batman possibly being slightly younger. Bale and Ledger look roughly the same age, so it's perfect.

I like the idea of a young Joker because Batman is just starting off his career so it would make sense for The Joker to be young as well

Batman and Joker should be close in age.

I'd say in his 30's, which is what I imagine The Joker in TAS was. That's what I think is ideal.

i always thought that the Joker was relatively the same age as Batman.

he's got to be young bruce is young so he must be yuoung to

Young. I think that part of the reason I'm not so fond of Nicholson's Joker (because I do like Nicholson as an actor) is the fact that I don't like an old Joker. He should definitely be relatively young -- roughly Batman's age in whatever give continuity it is.

I always thought Joker as a very few years older than Bats, I dunno why, both being around the same age, but Joker being just a couple of years older, but definitely (sp?) young...around Bats age.

Polux

I've always imagined Joker as being within 5 years of Batmans age either way, though I preffer to think of him as younger (in TKJ's origin, which was during Batman's first year, he seemed to be about 20-25 to me from the way he acted...)

Something about the Joker being younger adds more unpredictability...

I agree.

And I think the idea of a young Joker using old fashion slang would flesh out the whimsical, clownish side of his character, which in turn makes his violent, sadistic side seem that much more abhorring.

I've always thought of Joker as young, around Batman's age. No more than a couple years older, but preferrably a bit younger.

I'd say Ledger's a pretty good age for Joker. Near perfect, in fact.

i would say 30-35. no older. he has to have that young immature energy.. but then the psycosis of an older man.. the years of built up hate.
