Action-Adventure Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters

That Kamata-kun seems to have a rabid fanbase will always be great to me.

Kamata-Kun is a special boy who did nothing wrong

I am totally pumped for Minus One! I'm more excited about that than New Empire and the Monarch series.

Im excited that we're getting Three different kinds of Godzilla in less than year.

New Empire is the big fun Kaiju Summer Slamfest that is needed now that Superheroes have been oversatured.

LoM has the chance to finally gives us some good human characters in the Monsterverse in addition to help expand the Lore and whats been going on during all the down period.

Minus One looks to be Toho trying to do something new. They've never really done a period piece Godzilla movie before, especially in the Aftermath of WW2. Looks to be fun.

Not sure if we should be expecting a trailer release any day now.

I'd be genuinely surprised if there isn't a trailer released later this month given that the marketing is starting to pick up.

Ooooo, a lot of interesting tidbits in that trailer.

Was not expecting to see John Goodman's character back, so that was a pleasant surprise. It also seems like they'll be delving more into the 1954 scene in Godzilla 2014 where they first try to kill Godzilla with a nuke.

They are definitely filling a lot of missing strands in the Monsterverse with this show so I'm very curious on how it will all come together.

Man this looks great! Love the Monsterverse. I’m so excited to see it continuing. Man Godzilla Minus One, this series and there’s a Gamera anime out not a on Netflix as well. Awesome.

Looks good. I hope we get a Hiddleston or Larson cameo since it’s about the creation of Monarch

It would be interesting to know if they joined Monarch post-Skull Island credits scene. I'm also wondering if we'll actually get to see the USS Lawton incident in this given Randa's role in the story.

Question. Were all the monsters shots taken from the films or were there new ones? It's been a long while since I watched them.

A series offered to Apple is in good hands. If Apple buys Disney there might be good stories in Disney series again

They're all new shots from what are supposed to be the same sequences. We're going more in-depth/getting different perspectives of Godzilla's attack on San Francisco as well as the atomic test in 1954 from the opening of G14, and Monarch's origin I take it.

Welp, looks like I'll be re-upping my Apple TV+ subscription come November. This looks awesome.

Wow ok! They didn't spare the expenses on the VFX. This definitely feels like a movie budget.

This looks like it’ll be a fun watch. Love that we’re getting to explore the history of this world.

I’m glad that this looks like it’s taking more of a gritty, serious tone than the silly direction this franchise took in GvK. I’ll admit, I enjoyed that movie but my God was it stupid. This series has really taken a Fast & Furious direction in that I expect it to just keep getting dumber with each film, but I’m glad that this show looks like it’s returning to the more realistic tone of Skull Island (which I loved) and Godzilla 2014 (which sucked in terms of characters and monster fights but at least felt like a serious movie).

So this franchise is now spread between 3 different studios and all different "continuities"?

You say that if it's unbearably confusing as if people can't distinguish different continuities from each other. I think everyone who's been a casual fan can tell the difference. Also, more live-action kaiju content is never a bad thing.

Are there different continuities? Seems to all be the same one. Also, technically the MonsterVerse belongs to Legendary, even though they are licensing out Godzilla and some of the other monsters from Toho.

The Monsterverse is all one single continuity, yeah. Legendary has the licensing rights and WBD distributes the movies. I'm not fully sure if that's what Primal was confused about though. Minus One is obviously its self-contained thing and entirely separate from the Monsterverse.

I know I'm late to the party but this really does look AMAZING. I honestly don't know which Godzilla property I'm more excited for this year between this and Minus One, but please bring them both on.

We kaiju fans are being super spoiled this year though and I would also recommend Gamera: Rebirth on Netflix for those who want to watch some glorious, epic, Kaiju goodness in the meantime.

The CGI in this show looks insanely good too.
