Action-Adventure Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters

erm, I hope there is more Godzilla in the Godzilla TV show?
And more big name Kaijus as well, or even have some cameos from other universes like Dinosaur Tank from Ultraman.
The whole premise was to give backstory to Monarch as an organisation & fleshing out the Monsterverse world. Obviously that ties directly into Godzilla but I was happy with the amount of screentime he got throughout the series.
I imagine Kong will be in this series for a similar amount of time. Hope Big G pops up again too.
The Kraken like Kaiju looks cool as well.

I get the Monarch lore, but if your show is based around Kaijus there should be a good amount of them
and not just the no name monster of the week jobbers.
Yo, Mothra, where you at playa?!

Its not the Godzilla show. Its the Monsterverse show. Godzilla was a focus in season 1, season 2 is Kong. Also, Legendary is not going to shell out money to license a Toho monster just for this show, nor is Toho going to allow a crossover with anyone other than Kong.
I get so annoyed with stuff like Transformers and this where people demand to see more of the thing, as if it’s just as easy as easy as pressing a button and poof, there it is. I’m like, you guys realize that animating those monsters take a lot of time and even a ton more money. And, despite their pouring tons of cash into these things, they don’t have an infinite reserve of that stuff just lying around. It’s why they just have actors on screen most of the time, because they already exist, can just be put on camera and cost much less money. The fact that we even got this show is a miracle in and of itself.

Needed to get that off my chest.

The fandom is weird and fractured. So many people are hyped for Hiya Toys stuff because they make these "no name, jobber" monsters of the monsterverse that SH Monsterarts won't. And a lot of people are happy for new monsters, not to just rehash the same monster over and over again. Is a new creation worse than, say... Kumongo or Manda?

So no matter what you say there's a subdivision of the fanbase that will be annoyed with you?

Great, just great.

Had to start watching this and I'm already in love. Forgot how much I missed my monsters. : D

I enjoyed the first season for the most part but when I heard it was coming back, I was just kinda like, “Oh. That show. Right.” I don’t know. It’s not bad but I feel like something is just missing. I guess I feel that way about most of the Monsterverse stuff. I’m glad this show doesn’t go into mind-numbingly stupid territory the way that the Godzilla/Kong movies have but I feel like it should be better.

Watched a couple more episodes and I'm still intrigued. I liked the snow/mole monster. Pretty cool. :)

You can interchange the "Godzilla" part with pretty much every other fan base and that will still ring true.
Annoyingly so. I have my favorites but I'd like to think Im somewhat open minded to changes here and there.

I still haven't seen the first season. Did they ever release it on disc?
No. I'd say surprisingly no but disc releases for AppleTV is rare but there have been some exceptions. I'd say once the series is wrapped up there might be hope for a complete series box set.

The Godzilla fandom gets just the dash of... japanophiles of the anime fandom to make it a very unique hell.

Sources tell Nexus Point News that Apple TV has greenlit a prequel series to Monarch: Legacy of Monsters starring Wyatt Russell as the younger Lee Shaw, from Monarch. The series will be set during the Cold War and grapple with tensions between the United States and Russia in a world of monsters.
Joby Harold (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Army of the Dead) will serve as the series’ showrunner and will executive produce with his wife and producing partner Tory Tunnell through their production company Safehouse Pictures. Wyatt Russell, who stars in the series, will serve as an executive producer as well. Harold and Tunnell also served as executive producers on Monarch: Legacy of Monsters which was developed by Chris Black and Matt Fraction.

So Wyatt is getting his own series then. So looks like no more back and forth then between Wyatt and Kurt.

Interesting.

I'm down.

Both Kurt and Wyatt were fantastic in S1.

Agreed. I haven't seen Wyatt in anything else but he did very well in this. :)

I did just watch Thunderbolts. Oh, right. He was the Captain America wannabe, right?
Yup. Wyatt plays John Walker aka US Agent.

I remember watching the Falcon and Winter soldier and going "Who is the actor. He looks familiar" and then he did this "stare" and I'm like I know that look.

I know I watched Falcon and Winter Soldier but it was so long ago I dont even remember it. :( My memory is crap.

So basically this new show is the "Oops! All Flashbacks" equivalent to the Monarch show. :o

Sounds like it, but I dont mind. I've never been a huge fan of constant flashbacks like that.
