i'm not really sure i agree with this. just because a comic book throws in humor, doesnt mean the critics love it. fantastic four attempted to throw in humor and it was not well received from the critics, whereas batman begins and superman returns both did decent with the critics and i would not say that they have humor in it. if the humor fits and done well, or if the movie is well made, the critics like it. there was no inconsistincies or slow parts in iron man, therefore they liked it. fantastic four/x men 3/spider-man 3, a ton of boring and a ton of mistakes, bad grades lol. although, i will agree, i think iron man is definitely being over rated right now. to say that iron man is better than batman or superman, i would say no. but to me, the entire spidey trilogy is over rated.
I saw IronMan and loved that movie I plan on seeing it at least one or two more times. Now the Hulk movie I am gonna guess and say it will have more action but IronMan did everything right it never got boring the Best comic book movie to date in my opinion. Incredible Hulk I think will give it a serious run, and will be awesome in its own right Hulk is my favorite character and I can't wait to see the movie.
I agree with the Fantastic Four stuff, but thats why I said "in most cases", FF not being one of them. But even with BB and SR, almost without question, everything negative centered around the tone being too serious, especially BB. I thought IM definitely had some slow parts in it, the whole captivity thing dragged on a bit long I felt, but thats just my opinion, I still liked the movie, and think its Marvel's best so far. At the same time though, I couldnt help but feel a little funny at the reaction to it, IronMan "fully" only shows up twice, if you knock Hulk (and some people) BB for being slow, how can you justify IM being even slower, other than to say that Downey jr gave a great performance and that it was..."funny" in most of the slow parts?
What do you think iron man movie had a little action i think.I hope the hulk will get a lot more action.
because they cost a lot of money too make thats why, studios dont usualy cut out the action scenes they cut out other stuff.I don't know because The Incredible Hulk hasn't even opened yet. It's rumored to have more action scenes, or more than the director and Ed Norton wanted. But this sort of conflict between studio and talent is garden variety studio banter. I'm betting we'll see two versions of both movies on the horizon: One theatrical and one Director's cut. Who's to say alot more action scenes weren't cut from Ironman due to running time?
I have seen enough movies to realize that the amount of action is irrelevant to the story and the achievement of the action sequences.
Leterrier made the big promise: a 26 minutes action sequence. Ang Lee's Hulk had a 26 minutes action sequence.
