The Empire sized twist is Batman kills the now evil Superman before he can kill every one else. The 3rd villain is Luthor; who it is revealed designed the plan toget superman killed. Superman was turned by Maxwell Lord, who brainwashed and controled superman via Martian Manhunters mind control; a plan set int oaction by the omacs and crime syndacite.

That's not going to go over well with general audiences.

I don't get why they'd want to have any ties to Nolan's movies... Especially since Bale won't even be in it.

I don't. I appreciate what he's done for the character so far, but he does not own Batman and his characters, nor is he above them.

So I don't see the big deal, it's just another artist's interpretation of already well-established comic book figures.

Well I do, and only because if WB supposedly wants JL to be in a complete separate franchise from BB/TDK then why include villain(s) that were in Batman Begins?

OK who is powerful/creative enough to pull the strings of the likes of Maxwell Lord and Ras Al Ghul? Its gotta be Lex. You can say Lex is a Batman foe in the JL universe. Maybe the reports got it messed up that Ras is the Batman villain.

This sounds pretty good.

I wonder though what Chris Nolan will make of this? Has he been sent the script? They're not only using Bruce Wayne/Batman but also Alfred, possibly Ra's or his daughter and likely some other characters from Gotham.That's really stepping on the current Batman franchise's toes if that's the case.

yeah i don't think i like that too much, of all the stories and characters they can use, why would they use things from bb, i mean there are some reasons to, but i think there is way too many other stories that could be used, or written.

Other leaguers found out, had a falling out with Bats, especially Sups since it lead to a death....

Yes. You have. Because the events surrounding the Justice League-centric comic book arc called THE OMAC PROJECT, which this script is clearly loosely based on, along with the JLA arc TOWER OF BABEL, feature the following:

Max Lord, after taking over Batman's Brother Eye surveillance system, brainwashes Superman and causes him to go rogue, harming Batman and battling Diana. When Diana catches up to Lord, he reveals he was behind the brainwashing, and points out that he will do it again. Diana asks Lord how she can stop him from doing so again...and Lord says "Kill me". Diana doesn't even hesitate. She snaps his neck leading to all kinds of trouble for metahuman superheroes.

I believe this may well happen in the film because A, it's an enormous moment in the JLA mythos recently, and B, because people "In the know" have said there's a moment where fans of a character will be upset about what a female character does at a villains' urging.

from what i can recall at the IESB boards, they used the term superhero/ine, so it could be WW like in the comics, or they could change it and turn it into someone else in the League, perhaps Batman.

perhaps the reason why Bale was quoted at one point that the JLA would hopefully not tread too much into their storyline. they must've learned about an Al Gul involvement in the JLA

from what it sounds like from over at iesb boards, it sounds as if this story could be a sequel for batman begins and that the third villain is "right under our noses" and the revelation will crush batman emotionally i guess. So i for one dont like the idea that it is treading grounds of the bb universe. so who the heck could be this third villain of "empire" twist perportions?

well the villains that were more/ less confirmed on IESB was Max Lord and one or both of the Al Guls. given the earlier rumor of Talia being involved in the screenplay i'm more inclined to think she is involved here instead of Ras (which would also then satisfy some of Nolan & Co's request of JLA steering clear of their franchise). however given that there is a 3rd unnamed villain and that this person when revealed would crush Batman emotionally, then that ultimate villain could very well be Talia (its been confirmed that its not Alfred or Gordon or even Darkseid). that leaves who's the 2nd villain wide open again (the person manipulating Max Lord). from the info that i've read up to this point i'm thinking the villain roster could be this: Max Lord, Ras Al Gul then Talia Al Gul.

honestly speaking i'm finding it really hard to think of who else can emotionally/ morally crush Batman but is still bad ass enough to control Max Lord and Ras Al Gul. i dont think Talia can control her father, however Ras can be doing all this for the love of his daughter, thus making Talia the 3rd villain.
