More Exclusive Story Info About the Jla by Patrick Sauriol

Franck: I read what hwoodinsider is talking about on the IESB message forum and while he hasn’t come right out and said the big spoiler, it sounds like he knows what it is. As for if this is the rewrite or not, I can’t say too much because it may reveal some info as to who the source may be. I am allowed to say that it is from a recent draft (within 30 days).

@CM: Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, from what the source spilled about this project it could be pretty good actually. We haven’t had a truly epic superhero movie yet and this could be it. I will be the first to say that no matter how good the story is the casting needs to be pretty damn good too...Bale and Routh did such good jobs playing Bats and Supes that the JLA actors have to be just as top notch. This Batman has to be as bad-assed as Bale’s.

Paul: No nod in the version right now for the Legion of Doom but ya gotta save something (and up the danger level) for the sequel, right? They want a franchise of JLA movies.

@Meg: It may not be the final draft and some things will likely change a little when the filming starts. That always happens.
For instance, Alfred isn’t important to the story but I think it would be cool to have him make a cameo in the film. It adds to the sense that this is the big DC universe that we’re finally getting to see.
Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I’m glad that you dig everything that I’ve done so far! And big pat on the backs to the ones that remember the Corona days!

This does sound good - based on this, sounds like they could go with some slightly older actors.

Yup , and if they don't , it would be kind of absurd..

(and that would be the way to not stepp too much on Nolan and Bale territory )

This sounds pretty good. :hyper:

I wonder though what Chris Nolan will make of this? Has he been sent the script? They're not only using Bruce Wayne/Batman but also Alfred, possibly Ra's or his daughter and likely some other characters from Gotham. That's really stepping on the current Batman franchise's toes if that's the case.

That's why I hate the idea of a JLA movie. Come on, I don't think this is very respectful from Warner Bros., nor do I think at this point that Christopher Nolan will return for the third film. He must be pissed. Damn, I hate Warners and this f'ing crap!

Yeah, we'll see what happens - WB will throw enough dollar signs at Nolan to finish his trilogy, I wouldn't worry about that.........

Hhmmm... I'd throw a bomb at Warners for JLA... meh...

I'm confused. Where was it confirmed that Ra's is in this movie? Or are people just speculating? I don't think I can believe anything I read anymore as far as these script leaks are concerned. First we have a "lighter" superhero movie that makes sure to differentiate itself from the current solo Batman and Superman franchises. Now we have Batman Begins 1.5. :down

Could the villain who crushes Batman be.....Rachel Dawes??

i would lie if i would say that this sounds bad. it doesnt sound to bad. it could work if the director films it correctly. i just hope that the look will not be campy. IMO having a bad suit for a uneral is MEGA idiotic. so he made a special suit for a funeral? for christ sake this is hes uniform. its cheapens hes suit. i dont care if hes colors are bright. this is how superman shows himself when he does''super'' things.
and noone will tell me that ra's is the only choice. if he is in the movie then WB wants to confuse people. FACT

p.s. an older cast is the only choice. there is nooooooooo way that flash can be a kid. so they should not even try with young actors.

I thought Miller made comments about how he wanted to cast young so that this can turn into a franchise. Yet according to this story, the league has been together for years? And yea, Superman's dark suit does sound kind of silly. And if Ra's is involved in some manner I will be very disappointed.

The only young characters being cast are Wally West (the Flash/kid Flash) and Wonder Woman. All other members are going to be older. The question is just how much older. I am hoping for mid 30's.

How does this even remotely sound like a Batman Begins 1.5? Because some recurring characters might appear? Will TDK be nothing but a B89 1.5?

Look, I understand that a lot of people hold Nolan's franchise in high regard. But c'mon. Some of ya'll are acting like he's the only director in the world allowed to even touch the Batman world. It's simply not true. Would I prefer if they hold out on Ra's? Yeah, maybe. But if they had to go with a Batman villain to integrate into JL, there's really no better candidate.

I, in no way, think that Nolan can be the only one to touch Batman characters or to do them justice. But, we just saw Ra's!!! I want villains we haven't seen, which means no Ra's and no Lex. Plus, I thought the idea here was to have three separate franchises - JL, Batman and Superman. Having Ra's in JL, IMVHO, would seem a little confusing especially since Bale won't be Batman and because he(Ra's) was just recently featured in a movie.

You'll still have other villains in JL. Just because Ra's is returning, doesn't mean you'll get a rehash. If that were the case, no villain should ever appear twice in any story.

Recasting. It's part of the biz. Hell, happened right in TDK with Maggie. I doubt 2 or 3 people being recast would be "confusing" to the audience. It's not Calculus. They're not going to be sitting in the theater bugging out because they could've sworn someone else played Bats/Supes. After 2 minutes, they wouldn't even care anymore.

personally, I like the idea of maxwell lord being a puppet, with the strings being pulled by Darkseid. That would be a good setup for a sequel.

Darkseid is confirmed to not be in the story by Sanchez 's Insider Green .

That's exactly what should happen, DARKSEID.

Well, what can I say. I think the idea of multiple Batmen, Supermen and Ra's Al Ghul's running simultaneously in different franchises is stupid. But that could be just me.

you are not alone there.

Well, they've had Welling and Routh running around at the same time. That wasn't that big a deal.

Granted Welling's never worn the suit, but pretty much everyone knows he's been playing Superman for 7 years now.

Welling never wearing the suit makes a big difference, IMO. Plus, it wasn't like he was appearing on the big screen. We are talking about multiple Batmen, Superman and Ra's appearing in movies which makes it harder to swallow. It's easier to separate tv and movies.

I still don't see why Nolan would walk if JUSTICE LEAGUE is successful. It's not like he bothered to use Talia in BATMAN BEGINS. If he's planning on using her for BATMAN 3, I'd say he's a day late and a dollar short. His Ra's Al Ghul arc is pretty much done with, and if he wanted to do it better, he should have.
