Oh, I'm sure there must be some unknown out there who could have done the role justice as well. In fact I'd be curious to see the tapes of other guys who auditioned for Ratner/McG movie, I'm sure you could find some close calls. But as far as Routh vs. Cage/Hartnett/Caviezel/whoever was rumored to play Superman goes, Routh wins by far. An unknown was the way to go in this case.

If Welling was cast as 'Superman' of course the statement 'Welling is Superman' would make sense... but he wasnt.

Brandon was. We havent seen Brandon's acting yet but the fact that he was cast makes the statement 'Routh IS Superman' valid.

Harnett & Caviezel would have been poor as Kent and Superman, Routh has the CK look, but as Superman I need to see the movie before I can call him Superman, the pictures just don't move me, but its all good
