If the "Bruce Campbell as Quentin Beck" rumor is true, then I am VERY pleased. Hopefully, that means we'll get to see The Lizard, Mysterio, and possibly Kraven as SM-4's villains.

I am curious to see hoe they work out this "Spider-Man movie" in SM3. It could go good, or could be the worst part of the film. But it will be fun to see Campbell, Avi Arad, and Sam Raimi all together in that scene.

Looking forward to the new trailer guys...2 weeks...

I doubt this is true since the report is a play by play of the Ultimate Spider-Man comic (yeah I know someone said it already). it's possible, and with Avi Arad pulling more strings than normal it wouldn't surprise me, he forced venom into the film (God, I hope it works out) an now a stolen scene. Hope its not true.

Both Casino Royale and Ghost Rider's trailers came online a full week ahead of the movie they were attached to. I have a feeling the same will happen with Spider-Man 3's new trailer.

Maybe not...but I'm hoping. SO...I'm saying 2 weeks.

Mysterio could be used in future films, and be played by a top notch actor, not a villian to be written off as comedy.

I think mysterio could be tweaked to some degree into a serious and dark character, who is able to light up the FX in future SM films, in ways that other villians may not be able to. As much "fun" as it would be to see Bruce play him in a cameo, i think it would be a gesture of disrespect for older classic villians if they were to put him down that way, as a joke character. Sure his head is a fishbowl but you could make jokes about all the other villians too. A gaint lizard who cant control his rage, old man flying with wings, crazy zoo keeper that goes around jumping off rooftops, etc etc.

Mysterio is THE silliest villian ever. This is the PERFECT use of him in a movie.

All the other villans I can take seriously even in the slightest way, but I have a hard time taking Mysterio seriously. He is 100% camp and there is not much that can be be done to change that.

No its cool, I understand what you're trying to get at. But they could always swap the fishbowl for something else, making him darker and gritty. Just trying to probe some ideas here. Besides, I think in SM3 they have so much important stuff they need to cram in, any possible mysterio cameo would be very very short, thus wasting a character with potential to be grand, if written and tweaked in the right way.

I'd be cool if the scene began with Spidey fighting some random villain and it looks real until you just hear Raimi yell "CUT!" "No, No thats all wrong!"
or something funny and unexpected like that lol

this doesn't sound like he's going to be a fourth villain any more than Dr. Connors was a second villain in SM2 though, does it? i think it's more like a cameo possibly setting up for a future film, but i don't think we're actually going to see Mysterio as much as we're just going to see Beck. i think some of you are confusing the USM "Hollywood" storyline, where Mysterio was a villain within a Spider-Man movie within the story, with this report, where Beck is one of the crew members working on a Spider-Man movie within the storyline

I hope to God it is true because if you look in the sequel thread, you'll see that I had the very same idea for a movie with Mysterio as the main villian. I'd chalk it right up there with my Sandman in Spider-Man 3 prediction that people scoffed at too!

Yeah. Me too! Took it a step further actually and had the crew travel to California to fit the whole Hollywood theme of the villain.

But, if they did this. WOW!!! That would be awesome.

And as for the costume, if we ever see one- well, it doesn't need to necessarily look like a fish bowl. Spider-Man says that when joking around. It could be a dome of a sorts- think Mr. Freeze dome..... just something worn for 'safety' measures. Hey, it's a film- costumes are changed.... I mean- like at GG.
