Does Routh wear a muscle suit under the Supes costume? I noticed his arms look pretty big in most of the shots, bigger than I thought they were.
Anyone know?

Yep, Routh's arms were big but I think Bale looked better.

Nope, that's all Routh...hunky dream of a man

That's incorrect. I read an interview where the makers of the suit said he wore a muscle suit... Let me find it...

"Any padding and so forth?

Louise: Yeah, this is muscle suit under here. You can feel where it's hard and there's no muscle suit like here. And then right here you can feel a little muscle suit. And under here this is kind of where we put the most."

I remember when SR lovers were yelling at me for saying he was wearing a muscle suit.:o :)

no padding on his arms, only on the shoulders and torso.

Yeah... but also:

Dan:... The whole problem, just to give you a little more background on why we went with a muscle suit is that once you take the suit off the mannequin, it looks beautiful on the mannequin. If it's on a hanger, it's going to look like it's made for a 9 year old boy. There's a tremendous amount of compression that is on both the muscle suit. It's a very stretchy power-net and the milli-skin that the suit is made [of] completely un-cuts the muscle definition, so what we had to put in is about 30% more muscle definition in the muscle suit just to give him what he had plus a skoche more to bring it up to what the studio approved as the iconic, musculature body that they wanted...

The guy gets up to bat body-wise, and then got put through the dubious process of having padding in his costume so his body looked like what his body actually looked like?

It seems like an exclusive phenomenon with superhero suits: take three steps forward, 1 step back, twist around, and go sideways etc etc to get to where you're going?! Isn't there some other material they could use that wouldn't "un-cut" the guy's muscle def to the extent that they had to depend on the muscle suit to give it back?

The suit has padding, I've seen it in person. The padding is in the chest/pecks and the ribcage.

No. Brandon Routh had to work out. He isn't wearing a muscle suit under there. Besides, Tom Weiling from Smallville is much bigger and more muscular.

Yes, he wears a muscle suit. Sculpted by the same guy who did the Spiderman muscle suit. Mingen-whatever and Tom Bronson even confirmed it in a interview done here 3 months ago before the movie was released. Routh was contractually obliged to be on a diet to stay a certain size so that he could fit into the suit. This has already been confirmed. Anyone who tells you otherwise is being stupid.

Yep. Remember when we were getting attacked and how dare we for even insinuating it. Even when you could see it in the pictures, and people posted pics of the Mars face and said we were just seeing what we wanted to see and there was no suit. Suit Nazi's need to give it a rest.

Guess you didnt read where the costume designers stated he was huh?

Routh gained about 25 pounds of muscle for the part, but he still had to wear a muscle suit to make him look even bigger.

I guess you didn't see my comment about your old Hulk avvy? Cause I loved it :(

I didn't see that comment, but it's coming back soon. I'm just excited about Star Trek right now!

so has the JJ Abrams Star Trek been greenlit? And is what's his name playing Kirk? I know Abrams wants him, and Shatner gave his blessing on him playing Kirk, but is it official now?

Poop > Star Trek.

BUT!

If JJ Abrams does this and if Matt Damon is playing Kirk, I'll definitely watch it
