Infinity War MVP, MDP, & Most Improved (SPOILERS)

WARNING - DISCUSSION MAY INCLUDE SPOILERS! ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!

I have not seen the movie yet, but I thought with this many characters, this would be a fun game to play. What I want you to do is pick 1 character in each category:

Most Valuable Player (MVP) - Who is the shining star of this show?

Most Disappointing Player (MDP) - Who underwhlemded you?

Most Improved - Which character did you maybe not like that this film greatly improved for you?

Provide reasons for each response, if you feel so inclined. So that said, go on guys, DISCUSS!!! I will be making my picks tonight after I see it (7pm BABY!!!)

MVP - Thor & Thanos
MDP - Winter Soldier
Most Improved - Thor & Gamora

MVP:
Thanos - This is his film, he just owned it. You hate him, you want them to kill him, but you still love him, he's just an awesome villain.

Runners up in this order: Thor, Gamora, Rocket

MDP - Vision only for the reason we don't get to see him kick ass.

Runner up : Hulk as we only see him fight in the beginning

- for both of these, I understand the reasoning behind them.

Most Improved: Dr. Strange from the standpoint as we finally see his full power as master of the mystic arts.

actingwise - MVP: Holland, RDJ, Hemsworth

MDP: Banner. Ruffalo was doing what he can but that was a pathetic attempt on humor and whatever was happening and why it was happening...I don't know and I don't care

MI: Wanda since she was given something to do

MVP: Tie between Thor and Thanos. Maybe a slight nod to Thanos because he's the main character in the story but man Thor was just amazing. I'd pick Strange as runner up - I think his choice is going to be really important going forward - followed by Stark.

MDP: I can't say Hulk because I'm honestly intrigued by this development. Maybe Bucky? I dunno. Hard to complain - I mean with all these characters it was pretty much impossible to make every fan happy. The movie could have easily been 4 hours long.

MI: Wanda all the way. I've always liked her but this is the best version of her character to date. After Wanda I'd say Gamora. I might have said Thor but he already grew by leaps and bounds after Ragnarok.

I'd say Thanos is the MVP here. Closely followed by Thor. Who is then followed by Strange.

The opening scene really set the stage for the dramatic weight of the film. It is Thanos' quest for universal balance and his perceived fairness. It is Thor's quest for revenge and to meet his destiny.

Thanos vs Hulk really cements Thanos as probably the most physically imposing villain ever. It was a brilliant set up followed by a savage beat down. When he chopped Hulk in the throat... damn. That is the Thanos from the comics. People forget he is a master martial artist.

Thematically I think Thanos was just as interesting as Killmonger. His quest is almost like a burden to him. He truly believes in what he is trying to achieve. And he knows he is the only one capable, both physically and mentally.

Thor going full God mode with Stormbreaker was a sight to behold.

Ebony Maw is my favorite henchman in the entire MCU.

MVP - THANOS. End of story. One of the greatest villains (maybe even THE greatest) in all of comic book movie history. Without Thanos being a great villain, the movie would have fallen apart, IMO.

MDP - It's hard for me to say. If I had to pick, I'd say it was Drax? Don't feel like he did that much in the movie, action-wise. He was definitely the most underwhelming of the players on Titan (which may even be unfair, especially when there's Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Spidey there ...)

Most Improved - Scarlet Witch, Gamora, and Doctor Strange. I don't think I need to explain why, haha.

Even more than Kurse ? (now he's a henchman who's actually better than the villain he works for)

Ebony Maw got to do more than Kurse did, Kurse is close those he's my second favorite but I agree he's more impressive since he was actually better than the villain he works for.

I thought the Black Order was great but Kurse still is my favorite henchman.

MVP: Thor/Strange
MDP: Vision
MI: Gamora/Wanda

MVP would have to be Thor with SW/Gamora being tied for 2nd

Most Disappointing would be the lack of screentime for Cap, Falcon, Bucky, BP and BW

Most Improved would be Dr. Strange. He was more likable in 20mins of screentime here than in 2hrs of his own film. Also War Machine. He is way better in the Avengers films.
