Okay, I have to get this out of my head, so hear me out.
I got to thinking about those crazy symbols and squiggles that Garrett, and then Coulson, were doodling in the season finale. I'm sure the intent was for it all to be resemble some form of alien writing, since after all both Garrett and Coulson had been injected with a drug derived from an extraterrestrial. But to me, it looked a little bit like... schematics.
Fury confirmed to Coulson that T.A.H.I.T.I was intended to be used in the case of the fall of an Avenger, thereby inferring that Nick considers Phil to be one of the Avengers. We also have info, from what little has been revealed about the plot of Avengers 2 that someone on the team is responsible for building Ultron, but it's not Henry Pym like in the comics.
Now a lot of people assume it will be Stark to makes Ultron. But what if, somehow, what will become Ultron was transmitted from this alien (quite possibly a Kree) to Coulson, and presumably Syke as well? What is they end up being responsible for the creation of Ultron?
Like I said, a crazy theory. Please poke all the holes in it you can. I'd rather be surprised with how it actually turns out than be disappointed by having seen it this far in advance.
