My Own Worst Enemy

the ending kind of confused me because I wasn't sure whether Edward was posing as Henry in front of Raymond or vice versa.

Henry is the fake personality. This has already been established. Where have some of you ppl been? Also Henry's son is way way too old and quite frankly looks more like he should be lip synching songs in some boy band.

of course I know Henry is the fake personality. But when he visited the other agent in the hospital at the end and ran into Raymond, he acted as if he was Edward. They didn't show it, but he may have changed from Henry to Edward and I just wasn't clear on it.

I just assumed that it was Henry ACTING like he was Edward, cause Edward wanted to kill Ellen, and Henry wanted to save her. But then the scene at the end where they say that when an agent is broken they simply erase the agent persona, but let them live as a civilain confused me, 'cause then that would mean that Edward/Henry isn't in any real physical danger (as they've made it seem all along) if they find out he's broken.

Which brings up the question of -why would the guy that the psycholgist killed at the beginning of the ep and dumped in the corrosive vat, actually try to kill Henry if his job was really to confirm whether or not Edward/Henry was 'broken'....

Because she seems to be inlove with Edward and does not want his personality to get wiped from his brain.

The guy she killed pulled a gun on Edward/Henry and it seemed like he was about to shoot him. If agents that are broken simply have their memories wiped, why the need for the gun....?

One could say he was going to simply bring him in and the shrink was wrong about his plans to kill Henry. After all, even Edward was unaware what termination meant prior to it being explained by Cromwell's character. But in all honesty, you're over thinking it...it was just a red-herring. They wanted to make it seem like termination meant death to throw the viewer off as the twist of this episode is that termination means allowing the fake personality to take over (and I'm sure it will be Henry's goal to neutralize the virus and find a way to get terminated for some time to come).

ok, I understand now. thanks.

and yeah, you have a valid point about the gun thing. I don't know why he would pull it out if he wasn't going to kill him anyway.

NBC Cancels My Own Worst Enemy
Christian Slater series one of two shows dropped by network.

November 12, 2008

That was fast. NBC has cancelled My Own Worst Enemy after just four episodes, says the Hollywood Reporter. Enemy, starring Christian Slater, came into the season with a lot of hype, and while reviews were mixed, the show certainly had its fans – including some here at IGN. However, the ratings had been declining since the premiere, hitting a new low this past Monday, which lead to NBC pulling the plug.

My Own Worst Enemy had Heroes as a lead in, and while Heroes' own ratings may be down, they're still notable on NBC's overall weak schedule – and what hurt Enemy even more was its failure to retain Heroes' audience. This past Monday, 7.82 viewers watched Heroes (which gives it the distinction of being yet another record low for that show's dwindling audience), while My Own Worst Enemy had only 4.3 million viewers right after it.

What's not clear is whether My Own Worst Enemy will be pulled from the schedule immediately or not – the show is currently shooting its ninth episode, which will be its last.

Also cancelled by NBC, per the Reporter, is Lipstick Jungle, which also had seen increasingly low ratings. That show has shot its entire Season 2 order of 13 episodes.

Ugh NBC and Fox. The Two big Stations that don't give series a chance.

I hope they have time in filming the ninth episode to give some kind of conclussion, even if we only get to see it on DVD. Hell, I hope ABC picks the show up. They've been poaching canceled shows (first Scrubs, now they have set their sights on King of the Hill), perhaps they could pick this up?

I can't help but think they should've at least tried a different time slot with less competition first. Monday is the new Thursday. They should've given a shot on Wednesday in Life's spot and moved Life to Monday.

Bad call by NBC, I know 4.3 is low...but this show had a lot of potential. Though I do wonder if it would work better as a movie?

Well, fingers crossed for ABC.

God, wtf! This is a doomed timeslot. First Journeyman and now this! :cmad:

Because NBC is a failure at understanding the competition-level for Monday nights, and likely basing a show's viability on some unreachable number-goal, as opposed to weighing it relative to its competition.

I already know I am NOT following whatever it is they decide to throw up into MOWE's spot. Based on that slot's history, it's only going to get the axe before a full season even ends, anyhow.

damn you nbc.

Screw NBC! In fact screw TV period, I'm not watching anymore new shows. Tired of getting burned.

I hate they are taking this off the air. I love this show and I think it would have just gotten better and better..*sigh*

Seriously. NBC's pissing me off. First Journeyman and now MOWE?

Also, screw the people not watching the show.

I think the fact that MOWE was not able to retain even a minor portion of it's audience from Heroes was what ultimately killed the show. I'm sure the thinking was if they put this on at 8 pm on thursday all on it's own it's ratings would just plummet to nothing. How on earth has this been cancelled while garbage like Knight Rider is still in production? NBC has become the new fox.

=O
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe they freaking canceled it!! I was giving them one more chance...I figured "no way would they cancel this great show"

And then they did.

Screw them. I'm not watching NBC anymore...i'll download if there's ever something good on their channel. I'm sick of stations canceling something i'm really getting into it.

They barely gave it anytime at all.

The show wasnt promoted enough in my opinion. I know the economy sucks but come on

I'm not invested enough in this show to be hurt at the cancellation but it's a shame NBC doesn't give enough chances for a new show.

I fell asleep around the last 15 mins of Monday ep. Someone re-cap for me.

Holy crap, already they're canceling this? I this show got some good PR. Meh.

I kept having Alias flashbacks last ep. Good stuff.
