Superman Returns My problem with SUperman Returns.

This doesn't get me excited at all. I'm not saying to myself, "I can't wait to see how Superman deals with fatherhood!!". I don't go to a superhero movie to see how the hero deals with the pressing issue of being a father. And honestly, I'm fine with Superman and Lois having a child but not under the circumstances in SR.

superman has become his father, figuratively.

and since this on a subcontext level I don't see why this doesn't get one excited.

Seriously I mean does anyone really get excited over the drama in the spiderman movies? I sure as hell don't but I do appreciate it.

This is a very good direction to take superman in. the father son theme goes way back to his origin and now it is more apart of his life.

I've said before, I don't mind Superman and Lois having a child. It's not the reason I would go rush to see the movie but I could find it interesting, if done properly. However, I just don't like the way it was done in SR: Superman sleeps with Lois without telling her he was Clark Kent, Lois slept with Superman but did not love him(unless she is lying to Richard because Richard flat out asks her if she loved him and she said no), Superman is not around for the first five years of Jason's life, Jason believes Richard to be his biological father, Richard believes Jason to be his biological son(which means Lois slept with Richard not too long after Superman left) and who knows who Lois thought the biological father of Jason was before he tossed the piano. It's a total mess and this sort of stuff belongs in a soap opera not a Superman movie.

I enjoy debating. I don't take it as seriously as you seem to believe, but I enjoy it in my spare time, to exercise my skills and hopefully find good conversation and counter viewpoints to my own. The only catch to debating is the hope that my opponent actually has a coherent argument as a foundation for their posts, which you have been completely avoiding an explanation for, and as such, leads me to believe that you have no foundation, other than your posts boiling down to dumb hypocrisy. And if you can't defend yourself from being a hypocrite, then any argument you can come up with is moot.
