then there are sub categories under US comics:

  • 1956-1969 (Silver Age)
  • 1970-1979 (Bronze Age)

cool

how much did you pay for thoes?

i'm looking for a number 5, but can't find any.

i didn't like the ones i saw on ebay.

i think when i go to a con i'll bring money for one unless i see something cooler.

when you say wall comics, do you mean you thoes are ones you hang up on your wall or do you mean thoes are the ones you bought from the wall at comic shops?

I don't remember exactly, but I think it was about $125 apeice. They're in pretty rough shape. But I just like having them. Condition is not that important to me if buying (or even FINDING!) high grade copies is out of my league.

I do not keep comics on my wall, it's kind of a juvenile thing to do (no offense if there's anyone who does) and it will destroy the comics over time. I was just using the term 'wall books' in reference to the fact that they're the kind of books most comicbook stores sell by showcasing them on their walls because tehy're rarer and more expensive. Another word might be "key books", but that certainly doesn't apply to everything. Amazing Spider-Man #1 is a KEY book, but Amazing Spider-Man # say... 76 isn't anything special, but it still goes in with the rest for me just because it's Silver Age

Preacher #45 p21-22, the pissing on the cross sequence. Unfortunately, some of the word baloons that were attched have become loose. Does anyone know the proper glue to reattache them with?

Two pages I am monumentally proud of (I want the second one framed): Runaways #3 page 4, the first time Karolina flies, and #12 page 23, a beautiful splash page of the whole group by Takeshi Miyazawa
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v180/elijya/sketchbook/OARunaways4p312p23.jpg

These two were just too funny not to get. Runaways 4 page 10, the x-ray scene, and the second is by Mike Mayhew from a wizard article on Brian K. Vaughan.

pobably the most valuable thing I own: The original pencils to the JLA group shot from Identity Crisis by Rags Morales. This image was drawn once then photostated for it's appearences inside the books. It was also used as the cover to the third printing of #1, and on all the promotional materials for the hardcover, and the cover for one edition of the Hardcover.

nah, some guys around here have 3 times what I have

at least in terms of back issue counts. I think DBM, Gambit and TMOB all have several thousand more than I do

where do you keep your comics ? in comic boxes?
i have a couple and its already starting to take over haft my bed room. what do you do?

I keep mine in comic boxes, and they take up half my bedroom

but now that I'm in my first apartment, most of my single issues are still at my parents house

Heh yeah, space is th' issue isn't it?

Myself, I've got 4 drawers an' 2 containers behind my bed, 2 long boxes under my desk, a long box in front of my bed (with my comics that need readin'), 5 more drawers an' 8 long boxes in my grandma's presently unoccupied apartment (one fer comics I hafta put away), an' 15 more drawers in my basement. Not to mention all my trades, essentials, an' trade-thickness regular comics on 2 shevles in my bookcase.

Gonna need to order some more long boxes soon too. If only I could find long boxes that have drawers, those'd be perfect. Stackable an' accessable at th' same time.

Tell me about the space issues...

I keep my comics in boxes, I have 16 long boxes worth at present, unfortunately they take over most of the spare room. The wife is complaining, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with tham all:confused:

I've been buying more TPB recently to save some space.

BTW - nice collection Elijya

Heh my wife knows when she married me she married my collection. Plus, I feed her clock habit so she can't complain.

ugh, no, thank you. come on, I told you in the thread you started about them I wasn't a fan

as for space: there is a recent invention of comicbook drawers - sturdy cardboard boxes that slide into others. They can be stacked 6 high and still be accessable since you just slide the drawers out. I've been thinking about investing in them since they'd be space savers. If anyone else is interested, I can get you the link to the website

but with drawer boxes, they're sturdier, and you can get to lower boxes without having to move the others
