Mystique losing her powers = symbolic rape victim?

If you're talking about first blood, Magneto killed Senator Kelly, intended or not, and dozens of other humans before Stryker started his Cerebro plans.

And Magneto is even more ruthless than Stryker. Stryker may have kidnapped Mutant children, but so did Magneto. We have forgotten X1 haven't we?

As devoted as Mystique and Magneto are, you can hardly say they go about things the right way.

Also, in no way shape or form will Mystique forgive Magneto for that straight away. Maybe in the future, if they get together whilst their both now "human" and have a chat about what happened and make up, but I can hardly see that happening.

Magneto might as well have spat Mystique in the face when she was cured. And no way will movie Mystique at least just let that go.

I see it as "the tables have turned" on Mystique's issue.

I dout Mystique will ever partner up with Magneto, I can see her firing her infomous laser canon at Magneto (Plastic of course) once she regains her abilities. Maybe ditch the whole nudist fade and use her white or black kinky trademark clothes. lol

Y'know, the least Magneto could have done was give her his cape so as not to be arrested for indecent exposure or give her a lift to the nearest civilized town.

She knew all about how he was captured. Maybe her and Magneto were planning on freeing him and using him as a distraction from the getgo.

This is exactly why people don't take comic book fans seriously. As soon as anything happens that changes the status quo, we start screaming "Change it back, change it back!"

I was thinking about that scene where Mystique blocked Magneto getting shot with the "cure" dart during the squad car scene, and how it "humanized" her and they left here there naked and vulnerable, as if she were "contaminated", and the look on her face before, during and after it happened. The expressions of pain, shame, humiliation, disgrace, violation, loss. It almost seems like Mystique's loss of her powers makes her something of a symbolic rape victim, a virgin who lost her innocence against her will.
