Sequels Mystique

True. Would she already be "bad" do you think? Or do you think Mags would have some sort of influence in that area (depends on what your definition of "bad" is lol).

I think maybe, they should have it kinda like how they did Eden’s character in "heroes" (to whoever, follows that show, like that scene in "6 mouth ago") she’s just basic running wild with her powers, doing whatever she wants, and he finds her, and kinda offers her more of a meaningful use of her ability, to work with him in the fight for mutant kind
just a thought
Mystique's background was usually that of a lost soul, with no identity, always hiding who she really was, moving around, searching. for what? she wasn't sure (at least thats one interpretation of it)
I think she would be quick to join up with magneto

also, it could be that she is one of the mutants that him and Charles track down togather

Yes, Mystique is the classic lost soul.
Logan has amnesia from trauma, but Mystique has simply been so many people that she can't remember which one is her . . .

It would be awesome to have her back.

Damn Rattner for throwing her out.

Hmmm...IMDb is near the bottom of the list on reliable movie sources, but the idea of this could work, but they have to be careful...

There's alot of material there for them to go with on the Magneto and Mystique route...

I like this idea. Mystique can already have the intense dislike of humans, and be using her abilities and skills to get her own way, but Magneto can help her channel things into a bigger picture.

As we already know from the movies, Mystique didn't have a very loving or safe childhood due to her mutant abilities;

"It's because of people like you that I was afraid to go to school as a child."

"My family tried to kill me, you pathetic meat-sack."

So I think we could safely assume that when Eric meets her, she would already have a built up hatred of humankind.

I think it would make more sense for Raven to be one of the mutants that Charles and Eric scout out, but she ends up being a lost cause, and eventually joins with Eric once his priorities differ from Charles and he goes his own way.

they should meet in Germany

a nod to the comic fans, who know Nightcrawler's origin

maybe he saves her from the mob that hunts her after she gives birth to the "demon child".

they could choose whether to change that part, but keep her being chased by the mob and then have him save her

magneto should meet mystique at the end of the film, but have her in a human disguise (this is to fit with the genre, as the magneto film is just a drama)

during the film magneto should meet her twice but she looks different both times, at the end he should realise she was the both of them.
maybe she repeats something only magneto and the first disguised mystique would only know.

i like the idea of Mystique being in the picture, but if this is going to be the period piece they were saying it was going to be, that would make Erik a teenager. it would be weird if Romijn was re-cast. they would need someone else, i think. someone not so old (not to say she's old, but she's old for a teenager)! :D

If your going by the movie world then when magneto's a teenager, Mystique wont of been born. the age difference in the films.

if your going by the comics they might not have to recast, as mystique age is not known because she transforms to a younger age.
she met Destiny in the 1800's and she appeared the same age as now.

personally, i think there should simply be a mystique movie. i can see that making far more money then this magneto travesty ever could. as for there having to be a younger mystique? not at all, mystique has been hinted to be over 100 years old, her shapeshifting powers simply rejuvenate her body keeping mystique quite youthful.

as i was trying to say!

and a Mystique movie would be amazing

When you’re ranked #30 on Maxim’s ‘Hot 100’ list, people want to talk to you. And by “you” I mean Rebecca Romijn and when I say “people,” I’m referring to myself. At a swank party thrown by the men’s magazine, I caught up with the erstwhile “X-Men” star to ask whether she’s heard talk of her mutant alter-ego Mystique making an appearance in the franchise’s two planned spin-offs, “Magneto” and “Wolverine.” The answer to both films is no: “I hear the same rumors you hear,” she says, “but nobody has come to me.” For further clarification, watch the video below and gawk at her beauty and poise.

Are you copying and pasting an article or are you saying you met her lol

Good idea, technically, she can look lik ewhat she wants, she could be really old for all we know!

It would be good to show the relationship somewhat, as long as they keep it as a friend etc, it would interesting to see her reaction to Magneto having a child with a normal human.

Drama first please, action is not even important at all.

I know where you're coming from here: When Mystique was cured in X3, she appeared as a younger woman. That's why you say that, right?

Well, here's my theory that would allow for her to be older:

The cure made her not be a mutant anymore. It repressed the mutant gene that gave her blue skin, orange hair, yellow eyes, and all her powers. It also stopped the process that prevented her from aging. What it DIDN'T do, however, was add up all the years of aging that she's missed. From here on out (until the cure wears off), she'll age like everybody else. But the cure doesn't make up for lost time. :cwink:

^exactly, that’s like saying, wolverine most of not been old, cause, when he temporarily lost his power (after rogue took it) he didn't age

obviously if she’s over 100 years old (in the comics) she does more then just morph her self to look younger, she most have some level of regenerative power, other wis she would of die years ago, (or at least would have grown weak and feebly of old age, despite her outward appears)

I would say that action is important. With a mutant like Magneto, a comicbook-derived movie, and the necessity of conflict occurring within the drama, then action is required as a result of those conflicts.

Magneto will obviously do something like take revenge on the Nazis who killed his family, which will result in an action sequence.

In his actual comicbook origin story, there are action scenes and power displays. And so there should be in the movie. There is a Magneto prequel story to X1 (in a graphic novel that also contains prequel stories on Rogue and Wolverine) in which Magneto takes revenge on a Nazi war criminal. And it does include action within the dark dramatic content.

I would like Mystique to be the one who helps Magneto tracks down the particular 'Dr Death' involved in his family's extermination. Mystique was a spy in the war, taking the identity Leni Zauber (a deceased German agent).
She has a particular skill for espionage and infiltration, aided of course by her metamorphic powers.

She later married, had an affair and gave birth to Nightcrawler but abandoned him and he was raised by a gypsy called Margali Szardos. All of which could be included in the movie, especially if a voiceover by Ian McKellen can explain events not necessarily shown in full on screen.

Magneto's own children could also make an appearance. I can imagine a voiceover in which Magneto laments that either he wished he had children (unaware that he had) or that he was aware but never knew what happened to his children... then we see a shot of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver somewhere in Europe playfully showing off their powers in some sibling mischief. It could be a touching scene with them wondering who their father was, what kind of man he was, hoping he was a kind and benevolent man....

Exactly, but who said that Mystique wasn't around in the 1800's in the movie-verse? Mystique is older than Magneto. Her shape-changing abilities have ******ed the aging-process. This was never explored, explained or contradicted in the film.

The only thing is... if Mystique is in the Magneto film, it would have to be in proper respect to her own timeline.

I fear Mystique in a Magneto movie could overshadow him. Especially if the movie does not have a strong, present actor such as Sir Mckellen to play him.

Oh yeah, she has to be in there. This is the start of the brotherhood. Throw her in there with Toad, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver. Maybe Blob.

Not Scarlet and Quicksilver. The time frame of this movie is before the trilogy, and it doesn't seem right to have Scarlet and Quicksilver happen before then. I'd like them to be in X4, though.
