Names for Justice League Solo Films

I think it's pointless just using the nicknames for the sake of it, the reason the title The Dark Knight works is because its connected to the story, it justifies why Batman is called the Dark Knight.

If they're in the same universe, it could be deliberate, perhaps with a line of dialogue that draws attention to it.

I do like the similarities between Bruce and Hal in the league, despite their polar opposite personalities. Both are the only 'normal people' in the league. Both are about 'overcoming fear'. Perhaps the movie names mirroring each other would be apt.

Whoever said sword of atlantis, brilliant. I think it kinda sucks that because of tdk, they shy away from calling their solo movies with the heros name, but remember batman was a dark knight to Harvey's white knight, and man of steel could be metaphorical as well.

I loved the scrapped GA movie title 'Supermax'. Also with the Flash I think you could do a bit of incorporating the name within the title, a bit like Star Trek Into Darkness, A Good Day to Die Hard etc. E.g; 'Flash Point', 'Flash Back', 'Flash Forward', or maybe something more to do with the character's ability like 'Fast Tracked'.

I just like the idea of a clever sequel title instead of Superperson 2

I think for most characters it would be best to just have their names for the first one and then special titles for the sequels.

For example the Green Lantern movie was called....Green Lantern. The sequel (which they still should make) could be Emerald Knight, or Green Lantern: The Rise of Sinestro.

Some people don't know the nicknames for these characters, some may not realize that the Scarlet Speedster is Flash. So the first movie for his run (no pun intended) should just be called The Flash.

Yeah, normal names first, and I agree the story made The Dark Knight work so well. Many of the other nicknames lack that punch, but Dark and Knight come with so many connotations each.

The Amazon Princess is so on the nose, but if the second film deals more with Themyscira and a political subtext, it could work. Come to think of it, leading with 'the Amazon Princess' does work to break the link with any pre-conceptions of Wonder Woman. Could be smart, depending on how much you're updating her. King of Atlantis could be similar for Aquaman. The Amazing Amazon doesn't really say anything about story at all, does it?

The Fastest Man Alive is equally light on poetry, but if the story is against the clock, it could mean a lot for that story. Scarlet Speedster is another generic descriptor, same with Emerald Archer, Emerald Knight and others. No poetry, no real meaning, just nicknames.

Batman has more to share, but Caped Crusader has a little cheese on it still from the 60s, and while Shadow of the Bat sounds nice, especially for a Robin-centric story, then we're not talking about

Speaking of... it'd be quite interesting to see "Boy Wonder" as a film.

Green Lantern could have the coolest of names for films... I mean... Emerald Knight... Blackest Night... Sinestro Wars... The Taking of Oa... Rise of the Guardians... Oh that last one's already taken!!!
