NBC's ''Timeless''

Why was it on this channel to begin with?

I wouldn't be opposed to it ending up on somewhere like USA or even the CW. Or what about the Scyfy channel? 12 Monkeys is on there isn't it?

They'd better shop it round soon though before the actors are released from their contracts and go and get some other work, if that isn't already happening.

It is co-owned by Universal Television and Sony Pictures Television. So shopping it to SyFy or USA could work as UT is in the Universal family.

I hope they can do that. They were going to have to pitch their 2nd season to NBC anyway, because it was going to be quite different to the first because of the obvious plot developments that happened. I really wanted to see what happened. They can't leave us hanging like that.

But how likely is it to get onto another channel? How often does that happen?

I know with Forever, they never managed that. That was a series I enjoyed too. I'm guessing it's probably less likely than more likely.

Kripke should avoid NBC in the future. Shop future projects to Syfy or USA Network.

Can't say I am surprised, this seemed like a bubble show. I figured their might be an outside shot they move it to Friday but guess they have other ideas. I am sort of sad I actually liked this show alot

Are they even go to shop it around or are they just going to give up and move onto other things?

They are going to try revive it somewhere else.
But Kripke says the odds are long.
Assume it's dead and hope for an unexpected surprise down the road.

Crap, Time After Time and now Timeless, no fun.

Well Time After Time was never well received. It was pulled after just 5 episodes or so. Timeless was a far better show.

If someone signs on elsewhere, that will probably be the final nail in the coffin. Unless they somehow bring back the show without one of the main three cast members, which wouldn't be good.

This was the best of the crop out of the recent new time travel network shows.

I'm always hesitant to give too much hope to an outside source sweeping in and saving a recently cancelled show (mainly after believing Happy Endings was going to be saved for months only for jack s*** to happen), but I do kind of hope Syfy or possibly USA are giving this a look.

Shows offhand that I know moved to another channel and continued to different degrees of success:

Wonder Woman: ABC to CBS
Supergirl: CBS to CW
JAG: NBC to CBS

Can't think of anymore right now. but JAG is probably the biggest success story. 1 season on NBC, 9 seasons on CBS, and multiple spin-offs ever since (NCIS franchise).

I hope Timeless can be given a chance.

In the case of other series where they moved to another channel, were they picked up after it had already been cancelled, or were they shopped around before, knowing that they were in real danger of cancellation, and the other channel took interest?

Catching up on renewals and cancellations this morning, and saw this. I'm crushed. I thought the show started off okay, showed a lot of promise, and really found its footing over the last 3-4 episodes. The cast really started clicking, and the plot structure of the episodes went off-formula and made the storytelling more compelling. Even though I don't have cable, I really want this to land on USA or Starz or anywhere that will do it justice.

You almost never see this anymore.

Shawn Ryan @ShawnRyanTV

It's true! NBC heard from the fans, went back in time and changed history! #Timeless is getting a Season 2! #TimelessResuscitated!

Being told by @NBC timeslot undecided. Will be spring or summer of 2018 though. #TimelessResuscitated

WTF?!?... is this true?... if it IS, I'm overjoyed... PLEASE don't be running game on me with this news...

oh HAPPY DAY... I can confirm it as I checked up on this bit of news, as well... NBC turned back time and reversed their decision... we get a second season, YES!

Interesting.... Family friendly....

"Producers Sony TV fought hard to keep the show going after the initial cancellation with both Kripke and co-creator/co-showrunner Shawn Ryan having pitched a family-friendly take on season two. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the independent studio had been offering the lion's share of the profits to NBC in exchange for the renewal as SPT believe in the show's creative and that it has a solid chance to be a long-running, family-friendly franchise."

*sees Kripke tweet about it*

Okay, he's gotten hacked.

*sees Shawn Ryan tweet the same*

Him too.

*sees a video of Matt Lanter saying they'll be back*

Wait...

*sees every media outlet picking up on it*

:eek::eek::eek:

My first question would be, do we know for certain that everyone is coming back?
They did the same thing with Jericho over at CBS.

But it wasn't the same after they lost several cast members who went onto other shows and it got cancelled at the end of season 2.
