NBC's ''Timeless''

Truthfully, only the main trio really matters to the show, and I don't imagine any of them would get cut. Anyone else is expendable. Except maybe Rufus' girlfriend, after her thing in the finale.

Well Time After Time was never well received. It was pulled after just 5 episodes or so. Timeless was a far better show.

Certainly Timeless was better but they were the two time travel shows that I watched after giving up on Travelers and 12 Monkeys. I could have been fine with Time after Time cancellation but not both. Now I have nothing to watch in this category.
Note : I liked the machine in TaT as well as H.G Wells character.

have you not seen that it's been renewed?... NBC changed their mind about cancellation...

Now all the Constantine fans are going to think NBC will change their minds about it too.

Wow they changed their mind? I wonder what NBC's plans for the show are. Maybe a 13 episode order Winter replacement

Nope, I didn't. Last info from this thread was cancellation.
Edit : I guess I didn't payed attention to the last posts.
That's great news.

"DOES THIS MEAN FOX IS UNCANCELLING FIREFLY TOO???" - some f***ing Browncoat right now, 14 years after that show's cancellation.

I'm not into this show, but I'm happy for the fans. Last minute miracles in the world of TV cancellations are always a lovely and rare surprise.

Great news on the reversal :jd:

I'd have liked a full season but a 10 ep summer switch is fine, it'll be interesting to see what the family direction is.

Wow! I have to say I never expected anything like this.

Interesting.... Family friendly....

"Producers Sony TV fought hard to keep the show going after the initial cancellation with both Kripke and co-creator/co-showrunner Shawn Ryan having pitched a family-friendly take on season two. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the independent studio had been offering the lion's share of the profits to NBC in exchange for the renewal as SPT believe in the show's creative and that it has a solid chance to be a long-running, family-friendly franchise."

How much more family friendly can the show get? Season 1 was Stargate levels of "family friendly". If they get any more family friendly they'll be reaching Once Upon a Time levels.

The only change I can see them making for it to be "family friendly" is for it to be at 8 or 9, rather than 10. And that's really more on NBC than on the producers.

If I'm bringing back any Sarah Michelle Gellar show, it's The Crazy Ones, and that's not possible because... :csad:

Well great news that Timeless is back. Never thought such a thing would happen. But maybe they need to still shop it around while it's in production in the 2nd season so that another studio is ready to take it after the 10 episode order is over if NBC don't renew it again. I don't want them wrapping up after 10 episodes.

whedon did recently say he wouldn't mind doing a season 2...

That sounds like just the thing to inspire enough false hope to annoy me for another 14 years to come...

Like, yeah it's great, but we got a movie, one of the stars has already passed, and Nathan Fillion is chubby. Let's just move on.

Ron Glass, last November. Though his character was already killed in the movie, so that doesn't really make much difference. But still...

I think they still need to try to get this series onto SyFy though and not get comfortable on NBC. I don't want them facing another cancellation next year, or having to try to wrap up the story during those 10 episodes. I want this continue for many years. Plus 10 episodes does seem really short, and we'd have to wait a while until 2018 - almost a full year since the season ended this year.

During that second season (and even thinking about it before) they should try getting SyFy on board.

I hope we also haven't seen the last of Garcia Flynn, or that they don't just forget about some of the lingering storylines from season 1.

BTW, anyone think that maybe NBC never really cancelled Timeless but wanted to use it as a publicity stunt to say that the time team went back in time to uncancel the show?
