-Have a slightly comedic Rashoman-style episode with Spike and Jet each telling their own version of how they met and humorously going back-and-forth, with each version of their respective tales being filmed ver similarly but with different details changed depending on who’s telling what, and the versions of themselves within their own stories occasionally breaking the fourth wall to push back against what the other person is telling. Set closer to the beginning of the show, but after the episode where Ed joins the crew. Maybe you could get someone like Shane Black to direct this one.
-An episode centered on Ein and finally figuring out who he is and where he comes from, starting initially with Spike being annoyed as usual by him laying on his stomach on the couch and getting mad and shooing him away. Then, at the end of the episode, after assisting Ein and learning about all the horrible experimentation he’s been through, he realizes how the two of them really aren’t that different from each other. When Ein decides to try and lay on the same spot, Spike decides to relent and let him lay on him, much to Ein’s delight and happy tail wagging, even deciding to pet him and give a little smirk. You could probably have this set not too long before the episode Ed and Ein leave the Bebop.
-An episode told almost entirely from the perspective of essentially the equivalent of two low-level cops who have a dream of starting their own detective agency and just wanting to be taking seriously. They investigate what seems like just a normal case that sweeps them into something much bigger than they bargained for. They initially just barely miss what went on, but as the episode goes on, they get better and better about getting to where they need to go quicker, so more of what actually is going on and the main characters is gradually revealed more and more from their perspective, like seeing gunfire illuminating a window from the outside or somebody getting thrown through a door. At the end of the episode, in the very last place they need to look, our two characters actually get there early and get to engage in the action themselves, even helping out and saving the main characters and the main characters returning the favor. It ends with them having a little exchange with the Bebop crew, they get commendations for their excellent detective work in finding and helping to stop whatever was going, and the episode ends with both of them having been promoted and starting their own detective agency. It would be directed by Edgar Wright with both characters played by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. As far as timeline placement, this could probably go just about wherever, but probably somewhere in the middle.
