Keanu Reeves Is Not Happy With Constantine 2 Scripts, Says Co-Star (Exclusive)
Fans got a peek behind the curtain at the long-awaited DC Comics sequel.

Hopefully this means we will get a pretty faithful Constantine in Gunn's DC when he shows up."Constantine, I'm actually a pretty huge fan of. I read every Hellblazer comic as it was coming out. He's a great character, and I like that approach to magic where it's not too overwhelming and he's too powerful." - James Gunn

Constantine 2 on the big screen. Hellblazer on HBO.Hopefully this means we will get a pretty faithful Constantine in Gunn's DC when he shows up.
The difference is that "The Batman" is a great movie.Wouldn't this movie be an else-worlds (because it would be a sequel to a previous movie)? If Gunn is fine with two separate Batman's, I think he would be more than fine with two different Constantine's.
Even as a devote Hellblazer I adore Constantine. Very little to do with the original character, but the movie itself kicks all kinds of butt. There's this great YT I watched a while back explaining how it trust the audience in a way too few films do today.Constantine has never faired well being linked to a broader DCU even in the comics. I don’t particularly care if this gets made or not (it won’t, Elseworlds is just a fake banner for Reeves Batman) but is there a single good Constantine story remotely linked to the DC universe? All of Hellblazer ignores it for the most part and pretty much everything DC has done with him post-Vertigo is drastically inferior.
Still, Keanu is great and wants to make it. Great reason to make a movie even if it isn’t really the character.
Constantine is a nice, functional blockbuster. The kind we didn't appreciate enough back in the day.Even as a devote Hellblazer I adore Constantine.
